Like: Romy and Now

Quite like: Effie and Blair

Dislike: Andie, Frances, Jovie, Onyx

Can't stand: Teryn, Elva (please don't use this! Sounds like vulva!)

IzzyGrey · 22/10/2018 00:10

Noa, not now!

SleepingStandingUp · 22/10/2018 00:10

Andie - not really a fan. Maybe cute as a nn but I hate Andrea so...
• Blair - Too Tony
• Effie (Effie or Effy?) - really cute but would probably use as nn and give longer name for less cutie options growing up
• Elva - too try hard. Elves. Elvive. Hair shampoo for Elves?
• Frances - Too old
• Jovie - Too 80's rock band
• Noa - I like, but will she spend her life explaining it isn't a boys name and is has o H? I like Nora
• Onyx - No.
• Quinn - really like
• Romy - just not a fan
• Teryn - Did you say Terry? No Teryn. Oh can you spell that?? For the reat of her life.

lottiegarbanzo · 22/10/2018 00:26

I like:

Romy
Frances
Effie
Andrea
Jovie

The others are varying degrees of awful to me, sorry. Onyx strikes me as particularly terrible. Elva - is that a baby eel or a little elf?

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 22/10/2018 02:21

Frances is my fave

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 22/10/2018 02:22

Is it Rom-ee or Rome-ee?

mathanxiety · 22/10/2018 02:34

It's Rome-ee.

moredoll · 22/10/2018 02:36

Frances nn Frankie

Sungura · 22/10/2018 05:31

• Andie (how would you spell it?) #1
• Blair #2
• Effie (Effieor Effy?) #4
• Elva #11, I HATE this one!
• Frances #3
• Jovie#6
• Noa #9
• Onyx #10
• Quinn #5
• Romy#8
• Teryn #7

Beyond Frances, they're all pretty ugly... 🤢 Sorry to say.

Cbeebiesrehab · 22/10/2018 08:35

• Andie-know a little girl called Andi. It suits her I guess, but I can’t say I like it as such. Still feels a bit masculine for a little girl in a bow.
• Blair-Gossip Girl or ex prime minister. Think if I met a little girl called Blair though it would quickly grow on me.
• Effie- Effie is my daughter’s name (she has a formal name on her birth certificate though) I love it and it suits her perfectly!! I’m glad I’ve given her a more ‘grown up’ option though.
• Elva-like it. Will probably always get confused for Eva though.
• Frances-I think it sounds ugly and hate Frannie as a nn. Sorry.
• Jovie- Jon Bon for me, sorry.
• Noa- Like this, even though its a popular boys name this spelling looks feminine. She may be in a class with a male Noah or two though, if that bothers you.
• Onyx-dont like it, feels masculine.
• Quinn-Unisex to me but a lot of people will say it’s too masculine.
• Romy-feels incomplete and I struggle to say it properly (doesn’t come naturally)
• Teryn-dont like it.

Kokeshi123 · 22/10/2018 08:43

• Andie - People who hear it may assume it's a boy.
• Blair - Too much like Bleugh, too American, too Tony Blair.
• Effie - Passable, but sounds like Iffy.
• Elva - No. It's weird but also boring (blurs into Ella and Eva which absolutely everyone seems to be called right now).
• Frances - Beautiful.
• Jovie - Sounds like an adjective. No.
• Noa - I know an Israeli woman called Noa. It's pretty, but as with Andie, people who hear it and do not see the spelling will think she is a boy.
• Onyx - Oh my God, no.
• Quinn - Sounds like Quim.
• Romy - Just about OK, but sounds like a nickname.
• Teryn - Sounds like a viscose-polycotton blend for making high-performance dusters out of. No.

SuburbanRhonda · 22/10/2018 08:44

Frances.

None of the rest.

Kokeshi123 · 22/10/2018 08:44

Andrea as a given name, NN Andie, is fine. She can choose to be Andrea if being mistaken for a boy bothers here.

3TresTrois · 22/10/2018 08:48

• Andie - like. Old enough to be a massive Pretty in Pink fan and it makes me think of Molly Ringwald’s character.

• Blair - no. Surname-ey.

• Effie - too cutesy to be a complete name

• Elva - never heard this name before. Not keen. I know an Elvira known as Elvie which I always thought was quite cool.

• Frances - I like it. Classy. Good nickname options.

• Jovie - sounds a bit made up, although I know a Giovanna man Giovi, which is better

• Noa - no. Too many Male Noahs around.

• Onyx - dreadful. Stripper name.

• Quinn - see Blair comments above

• Romy - like it.

• Teryn - is it Welsh? Never heard it before. Sounds a bit close to terrapin 😆

OutPinked · 22/10/2018 10:09

Andie - very American, Jack Osborne has a daughter named Andie and yes it’s spelt that way. Not my cup of tea, Andy’s are usually gruff workmen Grin.
• Blair- Tony
• Effie (Effie or Effy?) Effie I think, reminds me of skins
• Elva- no a fan
• Frances - would undoubtedly become Frankie, prefer Francis for a boy.
• Jovie- Jon Bon
• Noa- Noah without the H?
• Onyx- not a fan
• Quinn- boys name
• Romy- definitely the best on the list
• Teryn- never heard of it but not a fan

TatianaLarina · 22/10/2018 10:12

I like Rome. Don’t like the others.

TatianaLarina · 23/10/2018 10:27

Romy ^^

KiplingAngelCake · 23/10/2018 11:13

Effie and Frances are the only ones I like from your list. Effie would be my first choice.
