Struggling to make a decision for DS2.

Any thoughts (positive/negative) on:

Iolo
Ianto
Iestyn
Guto
Gruff/Gruffyn/Gruffydd

Or any other similar names we might like?

Ianto is one of my favourite Welsh names
(Welsh speaking living in S Wales). I was going to suggest Taliesin, one of my other favourites, but see you already have one Grin I also like Aneurin a lot

Ianto and Iestyn are my favourites from your list. I have a (not so) little Rhidian. Also like Rhodri, Evan, Morgan and Ioan.

I think Aneurin goes well as a brother for Taliesin so I name your baby Tomos Aneurin Thomas.

Gwilym is nice. Gethin and Osian are a bit too popular IMO.
Geraint is problematic outside Wales - gets Gurr-aint, Jer-aint, Gur-ant etc how about Bradley Wiggins or Chris Hoy ...

I had to laugh at the various pronunciations during the Tour de France, mike. I also agree with the Aneurin suggestion.

Hmm I like Gwilym. Not having Aneurin (have worked for the NHS all my life)...Tomos it is Grin

Osian and Huw are my favourites. There was a cheeky Huw in my class in primary and a lovely Osian i knew in my teens.

Macsen is the spelling for the welsh form of Max, not Maxen.
Gwilym could be shortened to Wil if you're not keen on Gwil.

Ianto is one of my absolute favourite names. I knew a baby boy called Ianto many years ago and he was an absolute delight of a baby in every single way.
Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to use it for my own DS and we don't have any Welsh connection. So for that I'd go 100% with Ianto.

The Welsh alphabet doesn't have X, Q, Z or K. It sometimes includes J but didn't until fairly recently.
Name lists often have some bizarre or dubious entries.

DH and I have had a chat and the only two we both like are Iolo and Gruffydd, and Bryn has been put forward as a possible middle name.
