A unisex name - but would you prefer it for a boy or a girl (or do you not like the name at all)? Grin

Nice as a surnameWink

DramaAlpaca · 09/10/2018 22:55

Yes, it's a perfectly good surname.

I dislike it as a first name.

piggie88 · 10/10/2018 05:41

I like it, I prefer it for a girl.

mathanxiety · 10/10/2018 06:15

Love it for a girl.

I like Lenny as a NN.

weewillywinkie · 10/10/2018 06:18

I like it for a girl!

LotsToThinkOf · 10/10/2018 06:21

Awful for a girl, not great for a boy.

ThursdaysChildHasFarToGo · 10/10/2018 06:23

I wouldn't personally see it as a unisex name. Not my taste for a girl at all. Ok for a boy but again not really to my taste

IVflytrap · 10/10/2018 07:31

To me it's firstly a surname, then a very masculine first name - as in Lennox Lewis. It wouldn't occur to me that it could be female.

Villainelle · 10/10/2018 07:33

Please don't call your DD Lennox.

LeeMiller · 10/10/2018 07:52

I think of it as a boy's name - like Lennox Lewis - or a surname.

Leni is nice for a girl.

JasperCopeland · 10/10/2018 11:03

Surname. Mary Lennox was the heroine in The Secret Garden.

DC18 · 10/10/2018 11:11

I know a lovely 10 year old boy named Lennox who utterly suits his name. Lennox will always be a boys name to me because of him x

3ChangingForNow · 11/10/2018 03:28

I adore it for both

LividAtDolphins · 11/10/2018 04:02

I guess Lennox Lewis is the first to spring to mind for most, but it makes me think of Annie Lennox, so I see it more as a girls name.

I guess it's unisex but a shorteningto Lennie would put me off using it for a girl! (or a boy, actually, but even more so a girl)

Sungura · 11/10/2018 04:04

I've never considered it a girls name. Boys only.

bookworm14 · 11/10/2018 07:19

It’s not a ‘unisex’ name.

Saffzy · 11/10/2018 07:20

Would only see it as a boys name

PiperPublickOccurrences · 11/10/2018 17:01

but it makes me think of Annie Lennox, so I see it more as a girls name

That doesn't make sense. Lennox is her surname. If the famous person was Andrew Lennox that wouldn't make it a boy's name.

It's a surname. It's bad on a boy. Bloody awful on a girl.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 11/10/2018 17:03

I’ve only met girls called Lennox.

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/10/2018 17:07

Not keen for either but I'd prefer it as a boy

MrsChristianTrevelyanGrey · 11/10/2018 17:08

Love it as a girls name

seeyouhen · 11/10/2018 18:04

I've only ever heard it in reference to boys.

LividAtDolphins · 11/10/2018 18:23

That doesn't make sense

That doesn't change my opinion though.

LividAtDolphins · 11/10/2018 18:24

Surname names are very commonly unisex these days. Americans love a surname as a girl's name.
