First shortlist!

Only just found out we are expecting DC2 so this may be the first of many threads asking for name advice! Our shortlist so far is:

Wilfred (although less sure about this now after another post where I asked about this name)
Oskar (family connection makes me want to spell it with a 'K')
Barnaby
Louis

Theodora
Dorothea
Eliza
Margot
Elizabeth
Sylvie
Genevieve
Pearl
Mabel

These are first thoughts - some I love, some DH loves - thought I'd add them all without saying who likes what so I could show him the unbiased results! (Not that anyone would choose my name's over his just because they're mine, but he'd claim that if mine were more popular!

Wilfred - ok
Oskar (family connection makes me want to spell it with a 'K') - no. Oscar is too popular
Barnaby - ok
Louis -ok

Theodora - no
Dorothea - prefer Dorothy
Eliza - ok
Margot ok
Elizabeth - lovely
Sylvie - no
Genevieve - no
Pearl - no
Mabel - ok

Wilfred - love this. Love both Wilf and Freddie
Oskar - DS was very nearly Oscar. Liked it a lot then, but it's not stayed on my "future babies" shortlist
Barnaby - like, don't love
Louis - not especially keen

Of your girls' list, I like Sylvie and Mabel best. Elizabeth doesn't age, and I've rarely minded being one, except when most people assume I must go by a nickname (I don't.) I have no real strong feelings about the rest of them.

Louis and Eliza get my vote!

I love: Wilfred (and love nn Wilf), Oskar and Louis.
I love: Eliza, Sylvie, Genevieve.
I like: Theodora and Elizabeth

I like Oscar and Louie, and Genevieve, Margot and Mabel.

I like Wilfred and Pearl best.

Wilfreds are absolutely everywhere and it's becoming extremely common. It's going to be very dated.

Barnaby is lovely, don't hear many of those but a lovely name. All the Oscars I know are very lovely children, which helps. Louis is a bit chav (sorry) where we live.

Dorothea - Dot- is lovely. Mabel also is. Margot I think will date very quickly.

Sylvia but prefer Silvia.
