I really want to love Clementine and briefly considered it for DD but I don’t like Clem so discounted it. Jemima and Fleur are nice enough. I much prefer Annabelle to Arabella or Cordelia to Claudia. Clara is a cow’s name for me. Coco is a bit gaudy for my taste.

Very very posh, old money types or someone not at all that, but trying to be.

That's them all bundled together though. There are some nice names there.

Clementine- an orange. But I think nn Clemmie is very sweet
Fleur- F + Bleugh
Arabella- frilly and precious, probably a spoilt girl that’ll give you a headache banging on about how she wants daddy to buy her a new pony
Coco- Chanel
Claudia- nothing wrong with this, doesn’t make me think of anything I just don’t like it
Clara- lovely name, simple but pretty without being overly frilly
Jemima- first thought puddleduck but makes me think of a down to earth girl, probably likes country walks and wears wellies whenever possible

HeyMicky · 28/09/2018 21:22

Clara is lovely

The rest are terrible middle class climber names. If you're not properly monied, avoid

Shadow1234 · 28/09/2018 22:25

Clementine - small orange and dont like Clemmie as nn
Fleur - ok name
Arabella - not to my taste
Coco - clown
Claudia - dont like
Clara - love it! Dont know of any personally, not overly popular
where I lopive
Jemimah - just dont like it

Sophronia · 29/09/2018 05:15

Love Jemima and Claudia

toastofthetown · 29/09/2018 09:01

Clementine - nice enough
Fleur - pretty in theory, but I worry it sounds too much like bleugh
Arabella - bit too frilly for me, and I think Bella names are overdone
Coco - like Coco, but would prefer it as a nickname
Claudia - great name, not too overused
Clara - love Clara but dont like the American pronunciation
Jemima - don't really like it

bridgetreilly · 29/09/2018 09:03

Clementine: I'm not a huge fan of fruit names
Fleur: sweet but a bit wet
Arabella: nn Bella? I think I prefer Annabel, but it's okay
Coco: as nickname, but not actual name
Claudia: LOVE
Clara: LIKE A LOT
Jemima: It's okay. Feels a bit dated, maybe?

mikado1 · 29/09/2018 09:06

They're overall really lovely but don't like Fleur or Jemima. I wouldn't 'think' anything except 'lovely name', but I'm Irish and I don't think we judge names the way some mners do!

Roomba · 29/09/2018 09:16

Clementine - oranges and the song.

Fleur - nice, I like it. It's quite popular now, there's two in DS's Y2 class.

Arabella - too Sloany for my tastes. I picture a horse obsessed blonde girl who spends all her time at gymkhanas.

Coco - the kid's film, Chanel... more of a nickname really.

Claudia - really nice. Classic elegant name, not too overpopular but not too unusual. Love it.

Clara - really like Clara too. I picture a dark haired studious, intelligent but fiesty when needed girl.

Jemima - Goldsmith/Khan. I can't picture anyone else when I hear this name, despite having a friend named Jemima (but she really looks like Jemima Goldsmith too). Posh. I quite like it but wouldn't use the name myself as I know others would think 'Puddleduck' .

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 30/09/2018 18:53

I like Clementine and Jemima, but not the others, sorry.
How about Harriet, Matilda or Clarissa ?

Sungura · 30/09/2018 19:07

Clementine A red-haired girl with freckles, gap teeth and knobby knees, reading in the sun.
Fleur A bright but quiet girl who needs help coming out of her shell; she likes dresses and jam.
Arabella A flighty little thing who's exquisitely pretty, but often dislikes the attention she receives.
Coco A little girl who storms and pouts. She is naughty and gets away with things because she's cute.
Claudia A most clever girl, good in school, eager to please. She likes horses and books and gossip.
Clara A girl quick on her feet but not as clever as people give her credit for. At heart, she's a doll.
Jemima Loves to go please when it suits her. Doesn't mind church or school. Hates Beatrix Potter.
