Opinions? I know it might be a bit "out there" but I do like it

Just no, sorry.

SilverBirchTree · 26/09/2018 09:00

I like it

PiperPublickOccurrences · 26/09/2018 09:02

No. Great name for a dog though.

NordicNobody · 26/09/2018 09:04

I like it. I used to teach a Ziggy which was short for Zigmund. It's a cool name, he was a cool kid. Plus "stardust", so it gets my vote.

UrsulaPandress · 26/09/2018 09:04

Had a pony called Ziggy. Lovely mare.

Peachbubble · 26/09/2018 09:06

Nope

ileclerc · 26/09/2018 09:07

I know a baby Ziggy, it's cute but not sure how it'll work when he's a proper grown up.

BakedBeeeen · 26/09/2018 09:07

Jesus Christ no way!!

Frazzlerock · 26/09/2018 09:08

We've a crested gecko called Ziggy. It really suits him...

Nanasueathome · 26/09/2018 09:08

There’s a child st my grandsons school (in reception) called Ziggy
Initially I thought it was a nickname but nope, it’s the child’s name
Whilst it’s cute for a child it would not bode well for a 30/40 year old professional

hoppipopla · 26/09/2018 09:09

I love it but my dog is called Ziggy. FWIW he's the coolest pooch in the park...

Moominfan · 26/09/2018 09:12

My friends labradoodle. Really suits them.

NonaGrey · 26/09/2018 09:16

No.

You can’t assume a personality for your child in advance. Ziggy is a “cool” name but what is your son isn’t cool and doesn’t want to be?

What if he’s a quiet, studious and serious boy and man? The name Ziggy could be a burden.

scottboy · 26/09/2018 09:20

Love it.

coatsandats · 26/09/2018 09:23

It's an Instagram name. The kind of name that parents think reflect well on them, rather than a nice name to actually have.

If you're a Bowie fan, have you considered David?

pineappple · 26/09/2018 09:24

Maybe use it as a middle name so he has the option to go by it when he's older? Not quite as out there but I knew a Logan for years and was surprised to find out it was actually his middle name and his forename was William!

sittingonacornflake · 26/09/2018 09:27

My cousin had a horse called Ziggy

Poulnabron · 26/09/2018 09:27

Call him Ignatius, to be known as Iggy?

Mummyof0ne · 26/09/2018 09:31

Categorically no

bridgetreilly · 26/09/2018 09:38

I know a grown up Ziggy and he makes it work, but I'm not sure I'd be brave enough, personally.

coatsandats · 26/09/2018 09:41

Now I think about it, wasn't there a Ziggy on Big Brother once? I wonder if that was his real name or a nick name.

Joinourclub · 26/09/2018 09:43

I’ve known several Ziggys, big and small. Sigmund and Ignatius. All with Eastern European backgrounds, so not strange names, just not traditional English names.

coatsandats · 26/09/2018 10:03

I have now googled! Ziggy on big brother was Ziggy Lichman who was formerly in the boy band Northern Line.

His real name is Zachary. That could work? Zachary with Ziggy as a nn?

DickVanTyke · 26/09/2018 15:40

There's a female Ziggy on Home and Away embarrassed to admit I know that

midsomermurderess · 26/09/2018 15:41

It's not 'out there', it's naff and cringeworthy.
