Hi! For two little boys ( Leighton Archer and Hudson Frankie ) I have twin siblings on the way, one boy and one girl. I am pretty set on the name Oaklyn for a boy but i don’t have a middle name for it ( no meaning behind any middle names ) and for the girl i like unisex names rather than just girls names so i am interested in Haydn, Finlee, Noa or Jaedyn. Any ideas??

I love a good unisex name.
Hayden, Finley, Jayden spellings are much nicer though. The only one I'd use for a girl is Hayden.
Noa is really lovely for a girl

Some similar suggestions:

Harlow
Marlowe
Arden
Peyton
Quinn
Devon/Devin/Deven
Skye/Skyler
Fallon
Rowan
Sunny

I prefer Oakley to Oaklyn

Really sorry but the girls names on your list are really not nice. They're all spelled wrong for a start. I also hate all those names Hayden/Jayden/Kayden, they don't sound nice and they're all very chavtastic to me (sorry to any others !) None of them sound unisex to me either, wouldn't use any for a girl.

CatsAreMyAesthetic · 13/09/2018 22:55

I am so so sorry but I don't like any of the names.... Noa is ok?? Don't want to pry but sometimes if we know the surname it's easier to match names??

1moonshine2 · 13/09/2018 22:59

I have seen all girls names above used on actual girls and they look nice when used, it’s just a matter of personal opinion i think as i can’t see myself having a daughter with a feminine name.. don’t know why but i never have

wildewillow.. i do love the names Rowan and Fallon however my other half doesn’t like the name Rowan and my nieces name is ‘Luna-Fallon’ so i don’t think i could really use that

You don't need to have a feminine name but there are much nicer names that sound more unisex than those on your list , just my opinion.

What about Alex or Jamie ? Morgan, Charley, Eden, Spencer

CatsAreMyAesthetic · 13/09/2018 23:08

They just look misspelled. There are millions of names out there. They look a bit like you've grabbed some Scrabble tiles. If you fancy something unisex and funky how about something with some meaning.. how about Hopper? Grace Hopper was a computer science pioneer and one of the first people to start writing code. I could go on and on with suggestions

1moonshine2 · 13/09/2018 23:11

i don’t think names like finlee or haydn are funky to be honest.. compared to hopper anyway, hopper just sounds like something i’d of named my childhood rabbit😂

I don't think I'd use the name Oaklyn for a goldfish much less a kiddy! 😂

CatsAreMyAesthetic · 13/09/2018 23:18

I think I used the word "funky" to be kind tbh Flowers

ReginaPhalange89 · 13/09/2018 23:22

Funky = weird

If you're going to use one of those names at least spell them properly . Don't give her a boys name and make her have to correct the spelling constantly !

1moonshine2 · 13/09/2018 23:22

well it’s a matter of personal opinion isn’t it.. as i said i’m set on Oaklyn so that wasn’t what the original question was about.. the little man’s middle name is the main issue!!

I love both Hayden and Finley for girls. I do think of Hayden as a girls name because of the actress Hayden Panettiere and my daughters name is Finley so I’m obviously biased to loving her name 💗.
I have family in Canada and America and Finley is actually more of a girl name over there than it is in the uk. Ranked much higher for girls than it is boys in the U.S
I don’t know your age and if you’d remember but there was a female character in home and away back in the early 90s whose name was Finley (Fin for short) she was Irene Roberts daughter and the first Finley I’d ever heard of so I’ve always loved it for a girl.
Anyway rambling on now 🙈 I love unisex names and think Noas lovely for a girl too x

What jobs do you imagine your children having? How many doors would you like open to them? How extensively would you like them to travel? Ask yourself these questions and then name them accordingly. If you insist on naming them something no one else can pronounce or your children will forever be spelling and re-spelling for the rest of their lives I imagine you don't take these questions very seriously.

GingerCatBigBalls · 13/09/2018 23:29

Noa is great Smile

1moonshine2 · 13/09/2018 23:31

slightly dramatic? i think so. The names Haydn and Finlee definitely do not close any doors for jobs. And the spellings can easily be changed as they are still the same name and are pronounced the same way.

If you honestly don't see the importance in careful consideration for the names that will follow a person from the day they are born til the day they close their eyes for the last time then you are incredibly niave. Unfair, remiss and laughable. How about Rayvan-Tallooola-Mai for your son's middle name?

1moonshine2 · 13/09/2018 23:38

There are plenty or other children (a lot in america) with the names i have chosen, and i’ve thought about the names that i personally like and the fact that people can CHANGE THEIR NAME when they turn 18 anyways.

OP posts:
CatsAreMyAesthetic · 13/09/2018 23:39

So it doesn't matter if you call your children names that most people wouldn't call a litter of kittens because they can "change their names" when they're 18??? Wow. Oh wow. I'm done. Good luck I'm sure.

1moonshine2 · 13/09/2018 23:43

Hayden and Finley?! Sorry but when would people not use them names. As i pointed above that’s your opinion, and to me it’s irrelevant.

OP posts:
CatsAreMyAesthetic · 13/09/2018 23:46

Haydn, Finlee, Jaedyn, Fallon, Oaklyn.

1moonshine2 · 13/09/2018 23:47

Yes? I have a neice with Fallon as her middle name and it is complimented constantly. She is now 6 and no one has thought negatively about it so i’ll repeat myself again.. it’s just opinions😂

PussInSandals · 13/09/2018 23:49

Noa is nice.
Taylor (alternative spelling: Tayla)?

1moonshine2 · 13/09/2018 23:51

Noa and Finley are definitely the favourites, Taylor is nice and i might actually take that into consideration!

ColinsVeryJolly · 13/09/2018 23:51

Oaklyn sounds quite feminine with the Lyn sound, why not use that for your girl?
