Yep! I know an ‘annie’ Wink

Sophronia · 03/09/2018 15:39

Yes it’s fine

Icklepup · 03/09/2018 15:39

Yes!

SleepyMcEdie · 03/09/2018 15:39

I would drop the Just.

YolandaTheYeti · 03/09/2018 15:44

Hmmmm not terrible, but I think I’d prefer Anna or something on the bc. Annie makes me think little girl, possibly because of the musical Grin.

Though, having said that, my mw was (full name) Annie when I had dc1. She was 59 at the time.

BB2018 · 03/09/2018 15:52

I have an Annie - just Annie. No one ever questions it and her name always gets a good reception Smile

OrdinarySnowflake · 03/09/2018 15:55

I might go shorter with Ann/Anne, but that's me. If you want Annie, go for it. (She will spend a lot of time explaining it's not short for anything/she's not really Anne thoigh)

Lunde · 03/09/2018 16:03

My Grandmother was just Annie and it went on her bc in 1907!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 03/09/2018 16:15

Annie is harsh sounding. It looks unfinished to me whereas Anna feels and sounds so much nicer.

Probably watched too much Corrie as a kid and why I don't like Annie or Ivy!

ladycarlotta · 03/09/2018 16:56

It's a lovely name. I'm usually in favour of using full names rather than diminutives on birth certificates, but as PP has pointed out, people have been going with just Annie for generations. My great grandmother's middle name was Annie, after her aunt who I'm pretty sure was also Annie rather than Ann on the BC.

abbiejasminee · 03/09/2018 18:37

I love Annie on its own!

SuperstarDJ · 03/09/2018 19:12

I love Annie on its own. Not keen on Ann, Anne or Anna.

bridgetreilly · 03/09/2018 19:14

Yes, I think it's fine.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 03/09/2018 19:16

Annie is definitely a name in its own right and has been for 100+ years

Purplehammer · 03/09/2018 19:47

Great name.
It was my Gran’s name.
A feisty old bird who took no shit from anyone.
Heart of gold though.
I adored her.

MikeUniformMike · 03/09/2018 20:00

Justine might be better than Just Annie.
Annie (not Just Annie, Ann/Anne/ ... ) is lovely and fine on BC.

Quangot · 03/09/2018 21:03

Annie on its own is fine.

Personally I'd use something like Anneliese, Angelica, Anastasia, Annabelle as longer name, but my tastes are probably frillier than yours Grin

RedDwarves · 03/09/2018 22:37

Yes. I love Annie. It's fine as a standalone name.

ZebraKid71 · 04/09/2018 22:38

It's lovely, I wanted Annie as a stand alone name but my dh wanted something more unusual and what he calls a full name so dd1 is Anneka, we call her Annie 90% of the time. Annie is a fine stand alone name imo.

Airaforce · 05/09/2018 02:45

I would choose Anna as it would suit a grown woman more than Annie does. Annie is fine as a nickname but Anna on the bc gives more options when she becomes older. It sounds a lot more mature than Annie.

AllAboutTheStuff · 05/09/2018 03:12

I think it’s fine, if she wants a more mature sounding name when older she can always use Ann
