I posted a while about about Chloe/Hermione, I still love the latter but hubby not keen as a first name which is fine.

This is our new shortlist so far, in no particular order:

Aurelia - a bit posh maybe and potential for mispronounciation?

Chloe - we both like but it's quite popular where we live.

Francesca - I like but hubby less keen, doesn't think it's a pretty name.

Sophia - as per Chloe, we know lots of them.

Olivia - v popular.

Any thoughts - do you have lots of a certain name where you live? Would mispronounciation put you off? We have two girls already so finding it harder to pick this time!

Hermione - no coz Harry Potter

Aurelia - a bit posh maybe and potential for mispronounciation? Nice and I would have thought easy to pronounce

Chloe - we both like but it's quite popular where we live. Ok bit 1990s

Francesca - I like but hubby less keen, doesn't think it's a pretty name. Ok bit old fashioned ie 1980s

Sophia - as per Chloe, we know lots of them. Ok

Olivia - v popular. Nice

mrsmolehill I was going to say the same thing about Love Actually!

Aurelia is beautiful OP

Ds1 would have been a Sophia. It's popular for a reason - Sophia/Sophie are pretty much the perfect names - suit both little girls and adult women, elegant, strong, international, fab meaning. It is popular, but I don't get the feeling it's in the Evie/Ava/Isla league of popular. And it'll date a lot less than the current fad of Evelyn/Violet etc.
Talking of popular, Olivia is in the Evie/Ava/Isla category. Lovely name, but she's virtually guaranteed to have about 3 others in her year, if not her class.

Aurelia's nice.

Chloe had its moment too recently, I think, but it's not 'chavvy' (hate that word).

Love Francesca - Frances still more, though.

Aurelia - I really like this and I don't see it as posh - it's rare enough not to have any particular associations, as far as I'm concerned.

Chloe - very neutral

Francesca - love this one too.

Sophia - Don't really like this, too many different pronunciations (s'FEEA or s'FYEa or Soh-feea?) I prefer Sophie, I think.

Olivia - still like this one even though it is popular.

I think they are perfectly safe, middle-class conventional names, all much of a muchness. No issues around being a high court judge or other such silly tests.

We already have a daughter with a different sounding A name, would that bother anyone?! I always thought it would be annoying to have the same initials as a sibling (you can tell this is making me crazy!).

Aurelia - it is a little posh and tbh I wouldn't quite know for sure which way it should be pronounced. This would put me off the name. Trust me it is annoying having to say and spell out your name your whole life.

Chloe - love this name, and it's not as popular as Sophia or Olivia...even if it is in your area.

Francesca - Don't like this name. It is a bit harsh sounding, dated, boring and no nice nicknames. Sorry.

Sophia - prefer this to Olivia, but it's popularity puts me off. Sophie is a nice alternative.

Olivia - too popular, way too popular to the point where it's become boring. I have to stop myself rolling my eyes when I hear yet another Olivia! Olive is a great alternative.
