Hello everybody! My Welsh husband and I are considering the name "Wyn" for our little boy--we love it, but some opinions would be appreciated!! Thanks!

I really like it. It sounds handsome and a little quirky. I imagine a Wyn to be a kind person

Quangot · 14/08/2018 18:03

It's fine.

poppyseed1663 · 14/08/2018 18:31

I quite like it. I don't usually like short names but Wyn is quite nice.

imsorryiasked · 14/08/2018 18:32

Really nice.

ReginaPhalange89 · 14/08/2018 18:41

How is it pronounced? Like Win?

pipilangstrumpf · 14/08/2018 18:50

I like it! Cool and much nicer than will.

WeeBeasties · 14/08/2018 18:51

Is it pronounced Win? I'd assume it was short for Winnifred.

Meltedicicle · 14/08/2018 18:52

I knew a wyn but his full name was Wyndham (think I’ve got the spelling right)! I think I like that with Wyn as a shortened version better than just Wyn.

MikeUniformMike · 14/08/2018 20:09

I like it. It isn't all that popular as a first name but not unusual. It was hugely popular as a middle name for welsh boys and girls in the 1960s.
I prefer Gwyn but Wyn has the bonus of sounding just like Win. I also like Winston.

EmmaC78 · 14/08/2018 20:09

I like it too.

Peachbubble · 14/08/2018 20:11

I like it

Maireadd · 14/08/2018 20:11

Lovely!

HeresMeh · 14/08/2018 20:12

I love the name Win! My favourite band is arcade fire and Win is the front man, short for Edwin.

I've never seen your suggested spelling before but I love it. It's lovely and original.

Faster · 14/08/2018 20:13

Lovely. I like Edwin as well.

amilosingitor · 14/08/2018 20:17

I'm used to the name Win as a constant character in a series of books I like (written by Harlan Coben should anyone be interested!) I like it!! It's short for something lengthy and "posh" sounding but the full name escapes me right now

pilates · 14/08/2018 20:33

I prefer Bryn

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 14/08/2018 20:34

When I first read it I wasn't too sure but the more I say it I actually quite like it.

namechange2pointoh · 14/08/2018 20:34

I like it

SuperstarDJ · 14/08/2018 20:43

I prefer Gwyn or Edwin with Wyn as a nn if you want. Wyn on its own just seems a bit incomplete to me or a nn for Winifred.

DC2018 · 14/08/2018 22:16

Its ok. I'm not crazy about it though as it sounds like nickname for Winnie. There's loads of nicer Welsh names such as Emrys, Idris or Bryn x

AlliKaneErikson · 15/08/2018 09:12

I’ve known a few Wyns whose full name was Wynford, and some just Wyn. Kind of cute for a little one- all the Wyns I know are 60 plus.

dw23 · 15/08/2018 11:09

Wyn - I love it, would have been our nn of choice if our baby had male parts instead of female, we had decided on Winston with nn Win. And we're Welsh too.

daisypond · 15/08/2018 15:52

I like it.

badg3r · 15/08/2018 20:45

I'd never heard it before but I really like it! Presume it is pronounced win?

C0untDucku1a · 15/08/2018 20:48

It’s just ok
