I have a Rosie Elizabeth and love it.

Not too popular, I don't know another around here but not unusual that we have to spell it. It works well and really suits my 4 year old

Carryoncleoo · 05/08/2018 22:54

It's nice but I much prefer Rose.
i think Rose ages far better!
But go for what you love!
Congratulations and good luck Flowers

HeyDolly · 06/08/2018 07:28

I prefer Rose or Rosa as a name. Though a friend has a DD with Rosie as her full name and it’s fine. I prefer it to Isla which is everywhere at the moment.

greendale17 · 06/08/2018 07:30

I like it better than Rose

BearCubX · 06/08/2018 07:38

I just think it's a bit dull and overused. Isla even more so.

ReginaPhalange89 · 06/08/2018 08:17

I like Rosie ! I've seen people say it's common on here but I personally don't know of any ! It's sweet . I like it more than Isla

BitOutOfPractice · 06/08/2018 08:20

A major very irritating character on The Archers has a baby last week and has named her Rosie. Just as an aside.

I rather like it

Itchytights · 06/08/2018 08:22

Gorgeous- can always be shortened to Rose when she is older. Grin

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/08/2018 19:50

Lovely !

ElizabethDarcy88 · 06/08/2018 19:54

Rosie is lovely

daisypond · 06/08/2018 19:54

I prefer Rose. Rosie is too cutesy for my taste, though it's fine for a child.

Dljlr · 06/08/2018 19:55

My bf is Rosie. Beautiful name!

Mishappening · 06/08/2018 19:56

Rosie is lovely.

userabcname · 06/08/2018 19:58

I like it!

IrnBruTortie · 06/08/2018 20:00

We considered Róisín for a girl, with the intention of shortening it to Rosie for a girl. It didn’t suit our surname really so we gave it the dunt, but might be a good alternative?
I do like Rosie, but we’d worried about the “could they be a plumber, or a high-court judge question - which never really seems to be asked about boys’ names.

mineisarossini · 06/08/2018 20:00

I think it is fine when she is small and gorgeous. I am not sure it is a serious adult name tbh, I can’t imagine her being an investment banker, barrister etc with Rosie as her name

mineisarossini · 06/08/2018 20:02

Some boys sound unprofessional too.

lindsey077 · 06/08/2018 20:04

I know a Rosannah that shortens to Rosie- both lovely names.

khaleesi71 · 06/08/2018 20:20

I have a Rosie - she's nearly 30 now and still suits her. She manages to adult most days and has a good career with an international firm. She's been a barmaid too. We didn't like Rose - seemed too old fashioned at the time but Rosie just seemed to fit. She was nameless for a few days and I think sometimes the right one just pops into your head!

MikeUniformMike · 06/08/2018 20:44

I prefer Rosie to Rose.
I like Rosa.
Islas are everywhere.

Greeneyedgeek83 · 06/08/2018 20:44

Too cutesy. Can't imagine a 40 year old Rosie.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 06/08/2018 20:50

Rose is so much nicer. Simple and elegant.
Rosie is a guinea pigs name to me.

foxtiger · 06/08/2018 21:00

I like both but Rosie Elizabeth is easier to say than Isla Elizabeth, which has that annoying thing of the vowels running together in the middle. If you do go with Isla, would you consider Isla Rose/Rosie?

HanSpan1 · 06/08/2018 21:13
