Opinion on boys name please

I’d really welcome honest opinions on our boys’ name list please. Prefer shorter simple names as surname is quite long. I’m from an Irish background and husband is Scottish but open to any suggestions. These are names we agree on so far:
Jack
Joseph/Joe
Evan
Sean
Dara
Lorcan ( I know this breaks the short rule!)

Jack is nice. Popular, but nice. As alternatives what about Jacob/Jake? Or James?

Both the Josephs I know like both their full name and Joe but both spent years as adults trying to get their parents to stop calling them Joey (which they both hated). Just a tiny point! What about Jonathan/Jonty?

I am not a fan of Evan, Sean or Lorcan, don’t hate them or anything just don’t like them much.

I think Dara is nice in abstract but rather depends on where you live as to how well that will work day to day. Might be tricky somewhere where that is extremely unusual (it would be really unusual where I live).

Evan Joseph or Lorcan Joseph are nice.

Love Jack due to loads of positive associations. I don't mind populartiy with names at all, but many do- what's your feeling on that?

These are my two favourites on your list. Feel for you with Rory- it's hard trying to find something that you love, and a pity when that name is out of bounds!

I prefer Owen though, which I always think is quite similar?!

I like Lorcan best, though I do like the other names as well.
