Would this be a pain?

We live in Wales and like the name Harri which is how Harry is spelt in Welsh. I know a lot of names have to be spelt out nowadays but I'm just wondering is it going to be a pain subjecting the child to having to always say "Harri with an 'I' not a 'Y'? I think even in Wales people won't automatically assume that it's spelt Harri. Am I overthinking and should we just go with the name we like?

Spell it Harri. That's the Welsh spelling and it's a Welsh name.

Hari with one r is a common Indian name. Harri is absolutely fine.

I have a Harri with an I, and actually there are others in his school spelt the same but none spelt Harry (South East Wales). Lovely name!!

Just go for it. I always have to tell people there is a e on the end of my last name, it's not hard you just say it and then people know.

I’ve always had to spell my name because my surname is foreign. It’s not particularly annoying or tedious.

My DS1 has a name that has multiple acceptable spellings and we always just say “Stephen with a ph” (not that name but you get the idea). Once you’ve told people how to spell it they get it right.
