Girl names ending in ie or y

Struggling with girl names. I've come to the conclusion I like names ending with ie or y. I love the name Lexie but my concern is it rhymes with sexy....this is by far my favourite as is my husbands but not sure I can see past it haha.
I also like:
Darcie (husband not keen but like a lot)
Maisie (husband not keen)
Chloe (you guessed it...husband not keen)
Holly (not overly keen but he likes it)
Millie (both quite like this)
Lottie ( both quite like this)
Evie (both quite like this and family name, too common?)
Sophia (same as above?)
Ella (both have always liked but associate it with someone I know who isn't very nice)

Any thoughts or suggestions? We also like Jasmine which bucks our trend slightly

How about Amelia, nn Millie or Charlotte, nn Lottie. It will give her more choice when she's older.

How about Frankie/Danni/Charlie?

I have a Frankie (Francesca), and I love the masculine/unisex feel of these names. Quite cool but not too ‘out there’.

Years ago as an English assistant in a French school I came across the name Elodie and thought it was lovely so mentally tucked it away to be given to my future daughter...but have sons so never got the chance!

From your list, I love Lottie and Sophia! You're right though, Sophia is becoming quite common, and so is Lottie, I think.

Polly is cute, and seemed to be missed a bit when every 2nd girl seemed to be a Holly, Molly, Milly, or Tilly!

I know an adult Pollyanna known as Polly, and it suits her professional job too...

daisypond · 01/08/2018 20:34

Most of the names on your list are diminutives, which I personally think are too cutesy to be given as names - fine for children, but not for a grown-up. But the Greek-based ones, like Chloe and Phoebe, are really nice. Sophie instead of Sophia? Penelope? Zoe? Daphne?
