My other half has suggested Lexton for a boys name.
Initially i was a stern NO... but its growing on me and i'm wondering what others think. I knew a lovely gentleman called Lexton, so i think that's where he got it from and i think that's why its growing on me.

I've never heard of it before.?it sounds like a place? Is lex Luther called lexton?

Sessy19 · 30/07/2018 19:07

Lex Luther is Alexander

Hangingaroundtheportal · 30/07/2018 19:09

Totally made up name, and like others say it doesn't roll of the the tongue very well, it's kind of jarring?

It's a no from me.

Sessy19 · 30/07/2018 19:10

Lexton is fine. But it sounds a little bit like it’s made up/smashing a few names together. Nothing wrong with that, but NEVER ask MN for an opinion on ‘unusual’ names...it makes the cardigans keel over and you’ll get semi-abusive retorts!

Haworthia · 30/07/2018 19:13

I don’t even know it as a surname, so it just looks like a random syllable mash up to me.

notgivingin789 · 30/07/2018 19:17

Why?????????

tootstastic · 30/07/2018 19:19

Sorry OP, just not a nice name.

Nesssie · 30/07/2018 19:21

As someone with an unusual name, I hate it when people try for the most out there names. It makes for an embarrassing childhood, awkward introductions and lots of problems in the work environment when people spell it all sorts of ways (or use the closest ‘normal’ name).

worstmotherintheworld · 30/07/2018 19:27

Sounds like the car called a Rexton - it's hideous too.

IndominousRex · 30/07/2018 19:28

What about Dexter?

RaininSummer · 30/07/2018 19:31

Never heard it but quite like it especially shortened to Lex.

roratone · 30/07/2018 19:32

Sounds contrived and an attempt at a yoonique name

NotAgainYoda · 01/08/2018 09:40

Nesssie

Yes. I agree. Spelling it, explaining it, having people desperate to shorten it because it's a mouthful. It's not what I'd choose for my child
