Expecting a baby at the end of this year and looking for themed name suggestions to be used only if baby comes on a very special day! Nice to have names in reserve just in case! 😁 Nothing too common like Holly. Many thanks!

My cousins son was born on Christmas Day and he is call Leon (Noel backwards)

I actually really love Noelle for a girl born at Christmas!!

My sister is a December baby she's called holly, I have a December baby cousin called Robyn.

HJL2506 · 29/07/2018 09:50

My boy was born on Xmas eve 2016 and we didn't give him an Xmas themed name. However Robin would be a cute middle name.

I was born very close to Xmas and my mum was going to name me Holly.

Trialsmum · 29/07/2018 09:56

I think its unfair for a baby to have a xmas birthday and a xmas name- I know a girl called Eve- her BD is Xmas eve- I just don't think its very fair.

MikeUniformMike · 30/07/2018 14:47

I wouldn't. Christmas birthdays (Late november to late january) are fairly crap because people are thinking of Christmas or are skint.. Being called Robin, Noel, Noelle or Holly won't help.
You could go all out and call a Christmas baby something like Oliver/Olivia Christmas or Harry/Mary Christmas.

Names with a not in your face Christmassy feel could be Natalie/Natasha, Holly, Caroline etc.

Pick a name you love.

HJL2506 · 30/07/2018 15:51

My son is born on xmas Eve and I think it is so magical!!

They can't help when they are born 🤔

People make time for your child if they want to and if they don't they probably aren't worth it!

I was born on 30th November and never had friends or family bail on me and they always made an effort to celebrate with me.

It's lovely OP 😀

MikeUniformMike · 30/07/2018 15:53

If you have a Christmas birthday, it can get forgotten or lumped into Christmas (e.g. joint present). january birthday and you get regifted an unwanted xmas present or get something from the sales and everyone is skint.

HJL2506 · 30/07/2018 15:59

Maybe but my son has never had a joint present.

MrsRubyMonday · 30/07/2018 16:01

I really wouldn't. My birthday is a couple of days before Christmas, I spent my entire life being given joint birthday and Christmas presents, only seeing family once because they didn't have time to come twice within a few days, nobody could ever come to birthday parties because they were doing family things for Christmas. I never got to take cake into school because we had always broken up by then. Having a Christmas name would just have been the icing on top of a really shit Christmas cake.

A middle name, yes, or something not obviously christmassy (Robin maybe, Noelle I would have hated, or Stella/Seren or other star names). But let your kid have some freedom from the Christmas birthday combo.
