There are loads of boys names that are always popular, in the top 100 and don't date. William, James, Edward, Thomas etc

I can't think of many girls names. Most seem to go in and out of fashion more. Suggestions?

A lot of old boys' names were used for girls as well in the Middle Ages, partly because there were fewer female saints, so names like Philip and Nicholas, etc, etc were used for girls. When/if names were recorded, they were done so in Latin with the right feminine ending. So Philip becomes Philippa, Nicholas become Nicholaa. It wasn't till much later that these recorded forms became actual names themselves. So you could count all those as classic names too. Aubrey is one that is still used for both today.
