My niece is Maisie Rose with another middle name, but she’s known as Maisie. I love the name, she was named for her grannie who was Pearl.

Pibplob · 27/07/2018 08:10

Lobe the name Maisie. Not too keen on rose with it as a surname. But it’s your daughter to name!

VeraViolet · 27/07/2018 08:38

Maisie Charlotte
Maisie Elizabeth
Maisie Violet

continuallychargingmyphone · 27/07/2018 08:40

Of course Maisie can be a barrister

LoveInTokyo · 27/07/2018 08:55

OP I suspect this may not be to your taste, but would you consider Margaret with Maisie as a nickname? It would just give her more serious options if she wants them when she is older.

The Queen’s sister was Margaret Rose. I think it’s lovely and elegant, and really underused.

Maisie Williams’ full name is Margaret.

daisypond · 27/07/2018 08:55

I think it sounds very twee and far too cutesy. I don't like Maisie at all, though, and putting the filler middle name Rose after it makes it much worse. If you had Rose Maisie, that would be better in my opinion - Rose is a lovely name and is much stronger as a first name than a middle name.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/07/2018 09:02

I like Maisie, thumbs up from me.

BossWitch · 27/07/2018 09:04

Just a bit meh.

DamnWhyAreAllTheUsernamesTaken · 27/07/2018 09:05

I like it!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 27/07/2018 10:24

I think Maisie Rose is beautiful.❤️
I have a Maisie Charlotte.

Mousefunky · 27/07/2018 10:50

Agreed with others, everyone has Rose as a middle name nowadays. There’s a Ella Rose and Lily Rose in my DD’s class. Plus I’m not keen on Maisie. Pearl is nice.

foxtiger · 27/07/2018 20:13

I kinda like it. I know an adult Maisie (30ish?) who is very arty and outdoorsy, who has probably helped me to imagine that it's not just a name for little girls. Hyphenating with Rose might be a bit twee and overdone, but I don't think the same associations apply to Rose as a standalone middle name.

LarkDescending · 27/07/2018 20:28

Maisie doesn’t (of itself) mean pearl. Margaret is derived from the Greek word for “pearl” (margaron). So the meaning attributed by various sites to Maisie is as a diminutive of Margaret.

Frazzled2207 · 28/07/2018 07:50

Nice individually but not together.

Rose is a particularly nice name. Yet no one is called it as a first name these days (well I know one who is an a million who are something Rose. )

EivissaSenorita · 28/07/2018 07:57

Sounds like a prawn dish

NynaeveSedai · 28/07/2018 08:53

Sooooo boring sorry

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 28/07/2018 10:10

Dull and twee IMO sorry.

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 28/07/2018 10:11

However I do always say that it shouldn't matter what other people think about a name. I'm sure you wouldn't like mine Grin

RomPom · 28/07/2018 10:53

Love it! My grandmas were called Maisie and Rose ❤️

GummyGoddess · 28/07/2018 11:02

Many children who are something Rose right now. It's like when I was in primary and every girl had the middle name Louise. If it doesn't matter to you then go ahead, otherwise if you go on darkgreener names you can search and see how common a name is.

SuitedandBooted · 28/07/2018 13:52

I love this name for a little girl

How many years of her life will be spent as a little girl? You are naming and adult, and Maisie Rose is a twee, childish name.

DramaAlpaca · 28/07/2018 14:09

It's horribly cutesy & twee. I like the Rose bit, but can't stand Maisie. On the plus side, at least it's not hyphenated.
