Ok, I'm stuck on baby names. No idea what to call our DS and going a bit nuts.

Going to try something alternative...

Who is the coolest person you know and what is their name?

*just for laughs folks Smile

Alex
Michael
Gareth. I predict a huge glut of baby Gareths, all born wearing weskits

allthingsred · 05/07/2018 06:52

I know someone who called their son hendrix
With a name like that he will have to grow up to be cool right?

lalascribbles · 05/07/2018 07:00

Blake
Dale
Ed (Edward)
Nathan

MadisonAvenue · 05/07/2018 07:05

Joe
Billy

Okay, Billy is my dog but he is SO incredibly cool.

bellinisurge · 05/07/2018 07:09

Coolest people I know are women. But one is called Robin if that is any use to you.

Giggorata · 05/07/2018 07:10

Irene and Jake (not a couple) are the coolest people I know.

Candyflip · 05/07/2018 07:11

Yoli, (short for Yolanda) Hestia and Erik.
Keepit how are you pronouncing Xo? My cousin is Xiomara, we call her Zee. I love that name!

TigerDroveAgain · 05/07/2018 07:45

And Bruce: I can think of two, one is admittedly feline

Cosmoa · 05/07/2018 07:52

Cassius

BikeRunSki · 05/07/2018 07:54

James

I also know a very uncool James.

Coolness is not related to names.

LoveInTokyo · 05/07/2018 09:16

Audrey
Julie
Philippa
Manon
Melanie
Elizabeth
Natalie
Graham
Richard
Thomas
Xavier

It’s the person, their personality and their achievements that makes them cool, not nominative determinism.

Vintagegirl77 · 05/07/2018 09:39

Rob, David, Dan, Lauren, Katherine, Kerry, Tom are some cool people I know. Nothing cool about their names. I've never heard them say that they wish they had a really cool name!

The coolest kids at my dcs school are called Alfie and Ava.

LoveInTokyo · 05/07/2018 09:47

Yeah but aren’t about 50% of the kids at your DCs’ school called Alfie and Ava?

Toodamnhot · 05/07/2018 10:36

I think this thread shows that a person’s name does not make them cool eg Gary, Kevin, Graham.

BarryC · 05/07/2018 10:40

@LoveInTokyo we know, I made this thread for a laugh. Think it's quite obvious that we don't actually think a name makes a person!

I always thought the name Marcel was cool until I dated one, he was an abusive psychopath so that’s that name destroyed Grin.

I think Sebastian is a cool name but everyone I know that has met a Sebastian said they were absolute twats.

Mousefunky · 05/07/2018 10:48

There’s a Cobain in DD’s class. I don’t usually like surname names but I think that’s pretty cool.

TheMythicalChicken · 05/07/2018 10:49

The coolest kid in our friendship group is called Maximilliano.

sonnyboo · 05/07/2018 12:37

Coolness definitely doesn't come from a name but these are the names of some cool guys:
Alex
Quentin
Nathan
Xander

Cosmoa · 05/07/2018 12:47

@BarryC oh no what a shame 😭 maybe he will come around to it? Ask him again after you've given birth.. My DP was much more lenient to the names I wanted once I'd had her. I told him it was only fair that I get the final say!

Chelsea26 · 05/07/2018 12:57

Rex (he’s actually a treasure hunter and his nickname is ship Rex!)
Nathan
Gus
Garrett
Blaise

SumAndSubstance · 05/07/2018 19:18

Coolest guy I know is also a Ray. He is quite old though.

needmorespace · 05/07/2018 20:40

Ah, I also liked Billie and Stevie for a girl!! But had a boy. Jesse. I think he's cool.
