Hi, I’m Yohannette (everyone calls me Hanna) and I’ve hated my name for a long time. So I found out I was pregnant with my first two children me and my partner wanted to make sure the names for our expectant twin girls have to be perfect. I just want to say now that there are so many websites that can come up with the weirdest names for twins. While searching we found suggestions for things like Daisy and Maisy, Willow and Elm, and my personal faverioute, Blackpool and Liverpool. I have nothing against these names and I actually called my third girl Maisy, but the fact that you would rhyme it is beyond me. It was these terrible suggestions that made me and my wife realise that we wanted our kids to have names that not only sounded nice but meant something. We searched through diary pages to find memorable places that names weren’t insane, we talked to relatives about their or their parents names, sifting through all this history as well as numerous lists of what would be the “next big thing” in baby names. By using all this different sources we somehow managed to find two names that we love every time we hear them, Stella-Marnie (Star from the Sea) Audrey Thomas. This was perfect because we fell in love with the meaning of the first name and I proposed in front of an Audrey Hepburn film. And Georgia London Thomas, Georgia is the name of my wife’s grandmother, and we met in London.

I hope this hope has helped you in the search to find the perfect name for you new born.
Hanna

That's what I took from it, Stinky

AtSea1979 · 12/05/2018 23:04

Me too stinky but I doubt the OP is coming back. It’s clearly a wind up.

glitterbiscuits · 12/05/2018 23:15

My twins were born in the 1980s. They are both called Duran. But the eldest has a small d to make her more youneeque.

SleepingStandingUp · 13/05/2018 00:21

Not convinced on the name them where you made them, Walsall isn't a particularity cute name

Refilona · 13/05/2018 00:41

I am sure I once drove past a place called Chavington. Now that's a good name for my future dc.

Once more for luck 😂

Lol

Dodgy Hotel At The Most Shit Wedding Ever is too long for a first name I feel.
Rhyl Caravan for the boy
God Knows We Had 2 kids Under 2 She Must Be The Second Coming has it worst I think...

JoanFrenulum · 13/05/2018 03:53

I've just met identical twins called London and Scotland and it drives me BATS. Why one city and one country? Surely either both should be cities or both countries??? Argh. Lexically asymmetric children, the WORST.

I'm stuck at "I proposed in front of an Audrey Hepburn film". Like, did you just pause it for a moment, or what? And then after the (I assume) yes and hugging and tears and putting on of the ring did you just press play again?

TSSDNCOP · 13/05/2018 05:35

Do you think there'll be others in their class called Petrie and Dish?

We had matching goldfish once called Slap and Tickle.

olderthanyouthink · 13/05/2018 05:45

I quite like Ivy-eff Mummyoflittledragon. Maybe Ivy Euphemia (ivy effie) would be a little less on the nose?

SnugglySnerd · 13/05/2018 05:50

My twins don't have matchy names but then they are boy/girl. We did consider Topsy and Tim but that's been done before.

Ohyesiam · 13/05/2018 05:54

Funny that. I just called my kids my two favourite names.

Baubletrouble43 · 13/05/2018 05:55

QOD you're cracking me up 😂

Mummyoflittledragon · 13/05/2018 06:30

Olderthanyouthink
I almost said Effie myself. Then that would be a real name. Euphemia is a lovely name and I like Ivy very much as well.

Perhaps I should start a thread in Fertility suggesting names for children, who were medically conceived. TSSDNCOP could help me out. Wink I seem to be an expert especially as I was a seahorse in a former life and had 1000’s of babies at a time.

What about Em Bry Oh (Emily Bryony Ona) or Pen Is (Peter Isaac) to kick it off?

Mummyoflittledragon · 13/05/2018 06:31

Bugger the second doesn’t work. Not enuff sleep. Ok will think of a boy one in a minute. Pen Is. Penelope Isla.

wizzler · 13/05/2018 06:32

MNHQ,can this go to Classics please?

Hmm. Classic and Active for my twins .... might work do you think?

Mummyoflittledragon · 13/05/2018 06:32

Penn is a name, who knew. Penn Isaac it is.

ivykaty44 · 13/05/2018 06:35

Giving a Male middle name to a female child, it will bring its own issues, i could go on but won’t

ivykaty44 · 13/05/2018 06:37

Glitterbiscuits sounds sensible, I’m always getting muddled with my dc names and think it would have been easier to give them the same name

ShamelesslyPlacemarking · 13/05/2018 07:52

Well this is going to be annoying in five years when half the class is called Stella-Marnie and the other half is called Audrey.

Excellent idea. I get mixed up between the kids, dog and DH. So I could change all their names to Rover and be done with it.

Genius.

sweetkitty · 13/05/2018 08:09

I’ve named four children so step aside lesser childrened minions!

I actually could have two with London as middle names and two with Scotland as that was where they were conceived.

My MIL was Stella Maris and she would be about 70 now so not unique and modern at all.

Anyway mine are called
Sciatica
Symphilis Pubic Dysfunction
Acid reflux
High Blood Pressure

0LIVE · 13/05/2018 08:15

Ah that’s lovely sweet kitty. So special to have names that remind you of your pregnancy, not just boring names chosen from a book ( though I can see why you stopped at four ).
