After the surrealist painter.

What do people think?
And of the nn Nora?

Isn't that the name of a fabric softener?

Auntyirene · 04/05/2018 17:08

Leonora is lovely but I w I uldnt use Nora as a diminutive, it's not very nice. I don't think it's necessary to have a diminutive as the name rolls quite easily

SquidgyMcPidgy · 04/05/2018 17:09

I love it but not brave enough to use it because of the Lenor fabric conditioner. In fact I love Leonor even more (like the princess of Spain)

bridgetreilly · 04/05/2018 17:11

I like it, and I think Nora is cute.

thetriangleisarealinstrument · 04/05/2018 17:11

no thats Lenore... but even so, that is a name that has been in usage for a long time as a girls name. Like Flora which is pretty popular now but also used as the name of a butter.
So im not sure that matters too much.

I like it but I think I’m biased Grin.

thetriangleisarealinstrument · 04/05/2018 17:13

sorry cross post!

I think it would probably end up being shortened to something. Lea maybe?
I like both Lea and Nora .

Love it, but really dislike Nora on its own.

AnyaMoondial · 04/05/2018 17:28

I know a leonora shortened to Leo. It's a fine name.

dingdongdigeridoo · 04/05/2018 17:29

I love the name Lenore after the Edgar Allen Poe poem. Very gothic and different. Would I ever use it? Not in a million years. Sadly, all the variations would get stupid fabric conditioner jokes.

Mountainsoutofmolehills · 04/05/2018 17:31

love it, beautiful.

Bananalanacake · 04/05/2018 17:32

When I was a kid my mum took me to see a friend of hers who had kids called Lee and Laura, I was abit puzzled as to why I only ever saw Laura and not Lee. Years later we bumped into this friend and she called her DD Leonora, then I realised it was her name.

dawn1967 · 04/05/2018 17:37

I love love love this name. To me it seems very elegant and Nora is a perfectly cute nn. I like Leo too.

raeray · 04/05/2018 17:40

I like both leonora and Nora! Cute names that carry through well to adulthood

sonnyboo · 04/05/2018 17:40

Leonora is beautiful!

But please don't shorten to Nora.

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/05/2018 17:41

I'm not keen on the name as such, but I like Nora, and I think Leo is a great shortening for a cool teenage girl, so for those reasons I'd go for it.

Strokethefurrywall · 04/05/2018 17:56

I'm biased because my mum's name is Lenore - her nickname is Leni.

daisypond · 04/05/2018 18:07

I like Leonora. It's a proper name, and not cutesy. Lots of shortenings for it, as well.

RavenWings · 04/05/2018 18:27

I don't really like it. I love Leona though.

Littlepond · 04/05/2018 18:28

I immediately thought fabric softener. I love Nora though.

chezmk1988 · 04/05/2018 19:27

I like it but prefer Eleanor

countycouncil · 04/05/2018 19:40

I think it's really old lady and not in a cool way.

Sophronia · 04/05/2018 21:11

I like it a lot. I’d probably shorten it to Leo or Leonie.

DramaAlpaca · 04/05/2018 21:15

Leonora is a beautiful name.

Nora, on the other hand, is an ugly one.

I'd shorten to Leo or Lennie.

felicitythemangyfox · 04/05/2018 22:01

The Leonora I know goes by Leo most of the time. I like it Smile
