Which do people prefer? Classic Anna or slightly more unusual Nina?

Both names are great .

My advice on induction is take all the drugs you can get.

Peregrane · 30/04/2018 14:12

Anna. Timeless and graceful!

HelenaJustina · 30/04/2018 14:13

Anna is timeless, Nina more modern, why not wait and see which one she looks like? Good luck!

WhingyNinja · 30/04/2018 14:13

As a Nina myself I can recommend it Grin

WhingyNinja · 30/04/2018 14:14

Also, best of luck with the induction! Thanks

Oly5 · 30/04/2018 14:15

Anna, it’s classic and beautiful

Soubriquet · 30/04/2018 14:18

Ooooiih I love both

I think I would use Nina personally

Whatalovelymug · 30/04/2018 14:18

Anna

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/04/2018 14:24

Nina. İt's more unusual and still classy.
Plus there is no question of pronounciation. I personally think frozen ruined Anna a bit with the Arrna pn.

AnneOfCleavage · 30/04/2018 14:27

Definitely Nina. Won't get shortened and is a beautiful underused name.

Anna's are everywhere especially as it's a diminutive of Annabel etc and so she'd be Anna 2 or Anna 1st letter of surname at school. You wouldn't get that with Nina.

Good luck with induction and having newborn snuggles soon Thanks

yikesanotherbooboo · 30/04/2018 14:54

I'm not sure about the popularity of the names as I know 2 baby Ninas and no Little Annas ; possibly people have been deterred by Frozen.( south east)

tortelliniforever · 30/04/2018 14:59

Nina - good luck!

NomDePrune · 30/04/2018 15:01

Nina.
Can't be shortened easily
Can't be mispronounced or misspelt
Is widely recognised (Russia, South America, India etc)
Is still not common - never seen on those name things in gift shops!

BabloHoney · 30/04/2018 15:09

Anna!! Gorgeous name. Lots of luck, let us know what name you decide on x

vitaminC · 30/04/2018 15:12

I love both of these!

I actually have a newborn niece called Anna. Her sister is Mina (rhymes with Nina).

ShmooBooMoo · 30/04/2018 15:14

Nina. I think Anna sounds really boring (no offence to all the Annas out there). As you like Anna and Nina, can I throw Anya into the mix?

WhiteVixen · 30/04/2018 15:15

I vote for Anna, but then that's my name so I'm biased. Considering how popular it's supposed to be, I rarely meet another one! There was only one other Anna in my year at secondary school, none other at my small primary. My daughter is 6 and I don't think there are any Anna's in her year.

padfootprongs · 30/04/2018 15:17

Nina!

Pemba · 30/04/2018 15:19

Both lovely, simple and classic names, which travel well. I think I just slightly prefer Anna, but Nina is more unusual.

Mannix · 30/04/2018 15:21

Anna. Beautiful.

CakeRattleandRoll · 30/04/2018 15:39

Nina

treesaregreenandblue · 30/04/2018 16:46

Anna

Coey2016 · 30/04/2018 16:59

Nina

TempsPerdu · 30/04/2018 18:05

Well personally I’d go for Anya, which I adore (we nearly named DD this)... but out of the two I’d probably go for Anna, just because it’s so timeless and classic. Both are lovely though, so you can’t really go wrong. Good luck!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 30/04/2018 18:57

Definitely Anna!
