I love Grey for a boy but not keen on Greyson, are there any other names Grey could be a shortening for?

Graham. I don't like Grayson - makes me think of Larry Greyson and it's a bit like Grace (cf Alison, Madison)

It is a boring and nondescript colour. All fifty shades of it.

Sorry, but to me it just isn't even a name, even though it can be short for Graham.

Wasn't John Major known as the grey Prime Minister?

Kittykatmacbill · 17/04/2018 21:36

Graeme or Graham are both lovely utterly sensible names. Gray / grey are both not.

Dougray is great! Love that.

Graham / Graeme so ugly.

Greystoke?

Also could use Tarzan as a nick name.

BackforGood · 17/04/2018 23:16

Awful.
It is the name of a dull colour.

Graham's are sometimes shortened verbally to the same sound.

FloralMist · 17/04/2018 23:19

Teal is much better

Grey is a really depressing name for a child! Don't do it, poor thing.

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 18/04/2018 10:20

I know a Graham who goes by Gray. I actually really like it, but only as a shortened version of something else! And definitely not spelled like the colour.

Grey - something dull and boring, old age. Why would you choose this for your baby's name?
