Me and my husband are really having trouble finding a first name that goes with the last name Blanche. Our baby is due 2nd of May 2018.

We really want a unique name, but not too unique. We want it to flow with the last name: Blanche.

Carter doesn't really work with your surname to be honest.
I think Sheridan is a good name choice for a girl or boy. Like the actress Sheridan Smith.
