The name Nicol has popped into my head! We have actually agreed on boys names (for future reference) but Nicol has really grown on Me🤔

how about nico?

MissMoodyMoo · 06/04/2018 15:24

We have a close friend and his second name is Nicol and we'd have used his first name as a middle name anyway but I'm liking using his last name as a first for a wee nod towards him 😊

It’s nice, unusual without being weird.

chezmk1988 · 06/04/2018 16:34

Don't like it. Reminds me of nickel

Ivebeenaroundtheblock · 06/04/2018 16:37

Is it pronounced differently than Nicole?

Thistlebelle · 06/04/2018 16:39

Ivebeen in Scotland Nicole is pronounced Nik-coal, Nicol is hard to describe but more like Nik-l

SleepFreeZone · 06/04/2018 16:49

I like it!

blueskyinmarch · 06/04/2018 16:51

I love it but I am Scottish and don't think it is at all unusual.

daisypond · 06/04/2018 18:07

I know a Nicol (male). He's Scottish. He's the only one I know.

I went to school with a Nicol. Never met another one. It's okay imo but i don't love it.

Petalflowers · 06/04/2018 21:21

I agree with Sabine, nice, unusual, but not weird.

EggysMom · 06/04/2018 21:21

I worked with a Nicol back in Scotland. Guy was a bit of a div, but I don't think that was as a result of his name Grin

I've never heard of it and as in used to the more known Nicole/Nicola, it looks a bit unfinished to me. For a nickel type pronunciation, I'd probably spell it with a double LL if I were guessing, but presumably the single L is the established spelling.
