We have finally narrowed down a short list for girls (I hated almost every name suggested) and are left with

Ava
Edie
Niamh
Kiera

Just looking for opinions- my heart is saying Ava but I’m questioning if it’s just too popular at the moment. Thoughts and opinions appreciated :)

Ciara is much better

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 05/04/2018 23:58

Ava is v popular but you know that already and I like all your other choices
I would spell Kiera as Ciara but I get that the Kiera knightly effect impacts on spelling
I hope you have a safe happy pg and birth

TinyPawz · 06/04/2018 00:23

I prefer Niamh out of your list. Agree the spelling should be Ciara if that is your choice

buttercup54321 · 06/04/2018 00:27

Ciara
Eadie
Ciena
Like Ava best though.

windchimesabotage · 06/04/2018 00:33

Edie/Edith I LOVE that name! My grandmothers name and in the running for my daughters name (not sure whether we will get to use it as it may cause offence to the other grandmother and my mum) But I really want to use it!

Ava is beautiful too but very very popular. Equivalent of Holly or Sarah nowdays in that there will probably be at least two in your childs class.

dinosaurkisses · 06/04/2018 00:38

Niamh is a wee bit dated atm- I'm in Dublin and it was really common in the early 90s but its popularity has tailed off a bit over the last few years. So there's loads of Niamh's in their mid twenties but not used as much now.

Agree with pp that if you like Kiera, use the original spelling Ciara- it's a beautiful name.

Flyingchimps · 06/04/2018 00:38

Hadn’t even thought to spell it Ciara 🙈 terrible as my grandparents are Irish!!! Yes would probably have to be Ciara or risk being disowned by them for the rest of eternity!

Love Niamh

popularandspirited · 06/04/2018 00:40

I like Edie

Sophronia · 06/04/2018 01:03

Niamh

Flyingchimps · 06/04/2018 09:46

Mixed reaction- I guess that means we are pretty safe then. 😊

I love Edie

ReversingSnail · 06/04/2018 12:13

Ciara

RepealMay25th · 06/04/2018 12:22

Ciena

That's not a name.

DiegoMadonna · 06/04/2018 12:26

Niamh!

Then Ava.

Not keen on the other two.

chezmk1988 · 06/04/2018 16:45

Ava or Niamh

mintich · 06/04/2018 16:59

Niamh

daisypond · 06/04/2018 18:11

I don't like Edie at all, but the others are OK. Probably Ava or Niamh.

DuggeeHugs · 06/04/2018 18:41

Love Edie and Ciara

Glug44 · 06/04/2018 18:42

I like Ava and Edith (not Edie; sounds too much like Eddie).

penguinsandpanda · 06/04/2018 18:43

Love Edie, Kiera and Ava.

RavenWings · 06/04/2018 18:47

I agree that Niamh is a name for a mid twenties girl in Dublin, but I've met a few young ones. They've all been English though, so if that's where you are I suppose it doesn't make a difference.

Ava - blah, too overused
Edie - meh
Niamh - yes, bit dated in Dublin but lovely
Kiera - agreed, spell it Ciara. Lovely name

It'd be Niamh or Ciara for me.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 06/04/2018 18:49

I know 3 Edie's aged under 3 years old and I also know 2 girls Eden's of the same age.
I do like the name but it is very popular. X

pimlicolife · 06/04/2018 18:50

Ava definitely Smile

spacecadet48 · 06/04/2018 18:51

they are all lovely but Ava is very popular at the moment. My favourite out of the list is Edie
