Totally stuck for boys' names

DC2 is on the way and appears to be a boy. We are totally stuck for name inspiration, especially as we found a name we really loved for DC1.

If he were a girl he would be Iris, Martha, or Alice. We love Peter, Benedict, and Arthur, but DH and I are both the youngest of large-ish families and these names have already been used by close family members.

We are wary of anything too popular (which would probably count against Iris and Arthur).

Please inspire us?!

Askyourself, did you mean to post on this thread? I fail to see what you might have found in any of my posts to warrant such a patronising message.

ask you’re talking some right shit.

Well I apologise if you took that as patronising. You have many good strong suggestions amongst those suggested already and no point in repeating. Have seen and heard so many badly thought out naming choices I merely thought it would be helpful to remind everyone to think forward with naming choices beyond I like the sound of it. Many people do put such thought into there decisions but sadly many more don’t and sometimes a reminder is helpful to people.

.. People should be able to name their children what they want instead of other people judging.

For your example, Finley.. I think Finley is lovely for a boy or man..

Askyourself · 06/04/2018 14:36

They should be able to your right, and in a perfect world your name wouldn’t matter nor your appearance. It would all be about the person before you. But we don’t live in that ideal world and people have bias, stereo type mentality and aversions to all sorts of things. It’s thinking about those narrow minded people who will like it or not select cv’s or candidates with a bias against names. It shouldn’t happen, I totally disagree with it, but it does and therefore you need to think about.
Your hips maybe strong and determined and make any name look cool. But they maybe a shrinking violet and names can be a curse.

Was merely trying to be helpful, did select a few names as an example. Finley’s will be in school with many ollies, harry’s And jacks. As every young boy you come across are one of those 4. Not saying there’s anything wrong with those names either. Just if your picking too 10 names don’t be surprised when your little angel comes home with another’s school books, clothes or whatever.
