Names you love but haven't used

If DS had been a DD and I was feeling brave, he/she would have been named Scout from To Kill a Mockingbird.

If we ever get a pet (unlikely) we will name it Scout.

What name do you wish you had been able to use?

Rhiannon....I'm completely in love with the name but DH said no way.

Couldn’t have Charlotte (Lottie) because of our surname

Not sensible enough for DH

elephanttrunks · 03/04/2018 00:12

3 of my dc names are on here 😊 Arabella for me, I adore that name but DH detests it.

happymummy12345 · 03/04/2018 00:20

I liked Jessica for a girl (still do). We had a boy first time so was irrelevant anyway. But no one else is keen on it, even my dh (sorry to any Jessica's out there). It's still my girls name for the future (hopefully if we are lucky enough to have baby number 2), but I will have to wait and see if I can get dh to agree.

frasier · 03/04/2018 00:26

Eden, dc is a ds

Joeybee · 03/04/2018 01:01

I wish we could've used Frederick or Raphael...but our surname has a strong 'R' sound, and any R or W names just clash so badly with it.

Also I LOVE the name Brianna....but can't use it. My name is Joanna, and my Husband is Bryan...so it'd sound like we'd merged our names together to make a name. I don't want people to think we're tacky!

Marcipex · 03/04/2018 01:12

Alexander
Faraday
Halcyon
Faye
Amber

Seahawk80 · 03/04/2018 01:21

Piper. Love the name but had a boy. Now we'll never use it as it doesn't really go with DS' name and now have a niece with a similar name. It took us ages to agree on a girls name too!

Hadenoughtoday · 03/04/2018 01:25

Fern
Bailey - loved this name for girl or boy but husband HATED it

Elizabeth (Libby), Charlotte (Lottie) and Sophia for a little girl.

Jolyon, Xavier, Edwin and Alexander (Xander) for a boy. DH was very glad we had girls. 😀

I really liked Gulliver and Ramona. Both a hard no from DH.

sundowners · 05/04/2018 11:39

happymummy12345 thats so opposite to us as DH says its his favourite girls name and my BF who is a Jessica has had compliments all her life, I was always really envious! I love the name too, and the other famous Jess' out there i.e. Jessica Alba, Biel, Chastain- all beautiful, outgoing, intelligent stylish women.

For me I loved Jasper for boy but DH vetoed this- as well as Jessica if we have another DD and Sia also but wasn't brave enough...

AliasGrape · 05/04/2018 11:45

My friend has a dd Scout, it has really divided opinion! I love it personally.

TTC at the moment, initial conversations have indicated that finding common ground on names is going to be very difficult. I love Delilah for a girl, but I know he’d never agree!

TempsPerdu · 05/04/2018 12:26

Anya
Rosa
Daphne
Merryn
Clementine
Emmeline
Loveday/Linnet/Calypso (my guilty pleasure names!)

Holy I’m with you on Clio - love it but everyone else seems to think car!

Gabriel
Rufus
Nicholas/Nico
Flynn
Cassian (DP would never agree to this, and we had girls anyway)
