Is it weird if my baby has the same name as a famous person?

We have a quite common surname which means choosing first names is quite hard! There’s one name I really like for a girl but when coupled with our surname it would mean she has the same name as a famous singer. This singer was more famous in the 80s, so perhaps by the time our little one has grown up, no one will think of it...although she’s a bit of an icon so maybe not. This singer is fabulous, so personally I wouldn’t mind, but I don’t want to saddle her with something she might find annoying in later life. What does everyone think? It’s so hard to discuss this without telling you the actual name!

I know an Andy Bell, paul simon and peter stringfellow. Given their ages they would have been named before the others became famous. Peter loved it 😀

Peter stringfellow is the first name to make me think eeeek no.

At my school there was a Kat Slater...

I have met a real life Harry Potter. An older guy who was living his life quite happily until suddenly his name was as good as Mickey Mouse.

He's of an age where his real name is probably Henry so I think I'd really go back to That!

My youngest now has the same name of a film character and book character where the name is in the title 😣. Luckily we can use his full name rather than the shortened version. (Don't want to say too much as could be outed )

I know a Michael Jackson. He must be late 30s/early 40s. Even at our ages, it raises a giggle.

Before he met my mum my dad dated a girl called Crystal Knobbs......if it's not as bad as that I say go for it

At my school the depty head was called Phil Collins and one of the teachers was Dave Allen

Being non-googleable could be a good thing.
