Brother for Jemima and Abigail

Jemima Rose (Jimmie) and Abigail Ivy (Abby) are expecting a baby brother in July. My husband and I have had no problems agreeing on girls names previously but can’t find a SINGLE boy name that we both like.

OH is deadest on Patrick which I’m not a fan of. I quite like Cameron/Lachlan/Ciaran.

We both kind of like Finn or Jack (which is a family name) but as OH/baby have a single syllable surname we’re not sure about single syllable first names.

Any suggestions or advice?

You could do Finlay or Jonathan if you don't just want Finn or Jack.

I really like Henry or Oliver with your girls names.

Tryingtogetitright · 16/03/2018 10:32

Love your girls names. I think Benjamin (Ben) goes nicely with them.

IVflytrap · 16/03/2018 10:33

Callum
Caleb
Connor
Zachary
Jonas
Elliot
Lawrence

I was thinking Benjamin too and Benjie or Ben for short as both would go with Jimmie and Abby.

pipilangstrumpf · 16/03/2018 11:13

Love Cameron or how about Caspar or Quentin?

17caterpillars1mouse · 16/03/2018 11:57

I'm with your husband, Patrick is gorgeous and underused

Lachlan is ok. As is Ciaran. I really do t like Cameron as it makes me think of David Cameron

I find Finn a bit bland on its own. I like Jack and it isn't as popular as it once was.

Other suggestions you might like...

Jemima, Abigail and Aaron
Jemima , Abigail and Leo
Jemima, Abigail and Joshua
Jemima , Abigail and Lewis
Jemima, Abigail and Callum

I really do love Melina, Abigail and Patrick as a subset though

Ha I was also going to say Benjamin sounds nice with those Grin

ILookedintheWater · 16/03/2018 12:07

So many Finns!

Your DDs have 3 syllable names with 2 syllable nns so I wouldn't pick a single syllable for your son.
Jonathon (Jonty or Jonny)
Benjamin (Benjy)
Felix
Daniel
Philip
Robert
Sebastian
Geoffrey
Alexander
Robin

pipilangstrumpf · 16/03/2018 12:10

I agree, I'd avoid a single syllable name or nickname. I like Cameron, Felix, Quentin, Callum or how about Magnus?

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/03/2018 12:13

I was going to say Ben as well!

Threeandabit · 16/03/2018 12:59

Mungo, it just seems to have a ring to it that goes with your girls' names.

ps I like Patrick, too. Mungo Patrick?

The only Abigail I know (it’s me 😂) has a brother named James and we were always complimented at how well the names go together.

Sticking with Irish names, how about;

Thank you all! Some great suggestions here including a few that are on the long list (Dominic is a contender).

I love Benjamin but we made a firm decision to avoid any other Beatrix Potter characters when we named Jemima 😅

I've just looked up Mungo and it is a saint's name, plus it means 'kind'. :)
