As a sister for Ottilie. I'm not allowed Tallulah Beatrix......

OP posts:

I would be put of Claudia as I’m never sure how it’s pronounced. Is it Clawdia or Cloudia? I’ve heard it said both ways.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/03/2018 07:16

That's a shame OP, I love Tallulah Beatrix.
I think Claudia goes better with Ottilie.🌸

LoveProsecco · 16/03/2018 07:27

I don't think either first name goes with the middle name choice. I don't like Claudia as I think people are unsure which pronunciation to use. I also think Beatrice is prettier than Beatrix

MammieBear · 16/03/2018 07:30

Tallulah is an unexpected middle, where as Beatrix is a little more traditional. Beatrix Tallulah gives you the best of both worlds so I'd say that one.

misshannah · 16/03/2018 08:23

Beatrix Tallulah

upsideup · 16/03/2018 08:25

I think Claudia means Lame so that would put me off plus the claud sound isnt very nice.
Beatrix (nn Bea or Trixie) Tallulah is such a beautiful and lovely sounding name.

LineysOfArabia · 16/03/2018 08:29

I think Claudia means Lame

Urban myth territory. (Repeated in every sodding baby name book though, annoyingly.) It's a misunderstanding of the meaning and transmission of very early Latin family names and all guesswork.

LineysOfArabia · 16/03/2018 08:30

I like Claudia

ItWentInMyEye · 16/03/2018 08:32

How about Beatrix Lula? Liv Tyler called her daughter Lula Rose and I love it!

Cosmoa · 16/03/2018 09:05

I know of a man who had a sex change and became Beatrix so it’s kind of put me off that name by association.

Kind of a weird reason to be put off a name! And in this day and age... It's not a reason I would share with other people. If this person was horrible in any way than yes.. I get it. But otherwise I would keep that to yourself.

PeterRabbitEatingHisCarrot · 16/03/2018 10:00

Love both so with either, you’ve got a winnerSmile

marshallzumarubble · 16/03/2018 10:44

Definitely Beatrix Tallulah (although I prefer Tallulah Beatrix!). I am always put off by the meaning of Claudia. I have written four baby name books and it isn't an urban myth. The mainstream, accepted meaning is 'lame' although some etymologists argue that it could be related to the word 'enclosure' but, if they were looking into it, then lame would come up first and as the main meaning if that makes sense.

In comparison, Beatrix means 'she who brings happiness' which is lovely. I also think the shortenings of 'Bea', 'Trix' or 'Trixie' are nicer than 'Clau' or 'Claud'.

daisypond · 16/03/2018 11:07

Beatrix and Claudia are both traditional classic names, and I don't think you can go wrong with either, although I do prefer Beatrice to Beatrix. The Claudia/lame thing wouldn't put me off it, as it's not obviously in the name. However, I do rather like Tallulah as well. It's a different sort of name altogether. So I'd go for Beatrix Tallulah.

Snobbles · 16/03/2018 11:13

Lots of names have less than lovely meanings but it doesn’t seem to be an issue. Isn’t Amelia a type of birth defect?

PinkAvocado · 16/03/2018 11:14

I know a Claudia pn Cloudia and one Clawdia. Which would you go for? Apologies if I missed that!

mimibunz · 16/03/2018 11:17

@PanGalaticGargleBlaster, Lol!

mimibunz · 16/03/2018 11:18

Jane Elizabeth

TatianaLarina · 16/03/2018 11:29

Much prefer Beatrice to Beatrix - the latter is rather dowdy.

I don’t like Claudia and I like Tallulah but I think Beatrice Claudia works better.

17caterpillars1mouse · 16/03/2018 11:51

Shame you cant have Tallulah. I know a Tallulah and she's lovely and fabulous.

I much prefer Beatrix. Beatrix has the same free-spirited, fun living give as Tallulah whilst Claudia seems stuffy and uptight in comparison

Viviennemary · 16/03/2018 11:58

Tallulah is simply awful. Claudia and Beatrix are both fine.

extinctspecies · 16/03/2018 12:04

Any of those names on their own - fine.

But together as a first and second name - pretentious wankery. Sorry.

If you want an unusual & different first name, then pair it with a plainer middle name. Or it's all getting a bit Jacob Rees-Mogg. Are you, in fact, his wife?

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 16/03/2018 12:07

Oh tough one. I really like Beatrix and Claudia, but not Talulah. So I’d vote for Claudia Beatrix.

TatianaLarina · 16/03/2018 12:23

But together as a first and second name - pretentious wankery. Sorry.

Seriously?

If you want an unusual & different first name, then pair it with a plainer middle name

Claudia is very bogstandard name, Beatrice/Beatrix not fashionable but well known. The idea that you can’t put them together is bizarre, frankly.

Your post comes across as a pisstake.

Snobbles · 16/03/2018 13:04

Yes, OP. You clearly have ideas above your station in life. Call her Bertha Joan and stop all this fancy shmancy nonsense.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 16/03/2018 13:08

Beatrix Tallulah. Trixie Lula would be a cute nn!
