I love the nickname Charlie for a boy, but not keen on Charles. Does anyone have any boys names that can be shortened to Charlie?

Why don’t you just name him Charlie? It’s a name in its own right and doesn’t need a longer name

Charlton?

RubyFlint · 10/03/2018 17:16

Char Lee Grin

Carlos
Chase
Chandler...

I'm clutching at straws a bit here!

I have a Charlie, I don't like Charles, but he is Charles on his birth cert. DH wanted him to be Charles so he could have the choice later in life if he wanted to be known as Charles. It's not a biggy for me, nobody knows he's registered as Charles.

heateallthebuns · 10/03/2018 23:34

Charleston ?

IVflytrap · 10/03/2018 23:46

Charlemagne...

tararabumdeay · 10/03/2018 23:53

Don't be daft. Charles is fine and Charlie ok if you want it.

SnowShow1 · 11/03/2018 07:27

Just use Charlie if your not keen on Charles.

Charlie can still be shortened- Chas or Lee Grin

BroTim · 11/03/2018 09:39

Cathal is Irish for Charles

wokingjames · 11/03/2018 09:48

Just like Jimmy, Peggy, Dick etc most babies are registered with the long form name. James, Margaret, Richard but may never actually be referred to by those names

TenThousandSpoons · 11/03/2018 10:00

I don’t think Charlie can really be short for anything other than Charles. Just call him Charlie if you like it.

I like Charlie short for Charles. You could just call him Charlie.
