Guessing Game

Thought this would make a fun thread and maybe also provide names for people that are choosing that they wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

Think of a name (your child's or any name really) and provide 3 clues.

Other posters have to guess the name and once someone gets it right, it's their turn!

I'll start:

2 syllables

Very definitely a boys name but there is a feminine version

2 very common abbreviations/nicknames

OP posts:

@FintyTin is correct - it is Frieda Smile

FintyTin · 26/03/2018 16:50

Yay! I flippin’ love this game Grin

Ok then:

He’s unbelievable in Bow. He’s an earthy fellow who likes to keep an eye on the total.

DuggeeHugs · 26/03/2018 19:27

Simon

FintyTin · 26/03/2018 20:18

Not yet, sorry.

FintyTin · 27/03/2018 11:14

No, sorry.
Another clue?

DuggeeHugs · 27/03/2018 15:45

Definitely - I'm stumped! Unless it is Alan?

DuggeeHugs · 27/03/2018 15:46

Alfie?

DuggeeHugs · 27/03/2018 15:46

These aren't totally random guesses - I just don't know if either direction I'm guessing in is correct!

finallychangedmyusername · 27/03/2018 15:53

Warren?

FintyTin · 27/03/2018 16:15

I can see your thinking, but no-one has it yet.
Another clue.

He's a mad twisted chap.

Adam?

clairehr · 27/03/2018 20:43

Duggee MUST have it!

FintyTin · 27/03/2018 20:48

DuggeeHugs has it!

He wouldn’t be believed in Bow among the Cockneys as in “I don’t Adam-and-Eve it!”
Adam means ‘earth’.
He keeps an eye on the total: he would add ‘em up.
‘a mad’ twisted makes Adam.

Well done Duggee - over to you Smile.

DuggeeHugs · 27/03/2018 21:13

Yay! They were great clues FintyTin - lots of potential answers Smile

For my next clue:

This pilgrim-turned-warrior exists in the land without edges

LadyGAgain · 27/03/2018 21:17

Catra · 27/03/2018 21:22

Three clues about my daughter's name:

  1. It's the name of a song by the band Alt-J

  2. It's also the name Natalie Portman's character is the film Leon

  3. Miss Honey thought she was exceptionally good at reading
