George for a girl?

I just saw actress Hilarie Burton and actor JEffrey dean Morgan have had a little girl and named her George, it’s first time I’ve heard it on a girl. Please tell me I’m not going mad. Although it doesn’t sound as bad as I thought would.

Plus Kerry Katona has a DD called Dylan-Jorge,which is enough to make you rethink Grin

As a nickname for Georgina/Georgia, sure.

On its own, no. It sounds ridiculous.

What about Bernard?

George Eliot was a pen name - no one called her that in daily life! It's just the name under which her books were published. She was Mary Ann.

I agree with the other posters. Call her Georgina or something and George can be a nickname.

I know a little girl called Georgie which I think is lovely, just a tad more feminine than George in my opinion, but if you like George go for it. Georgia is also nice.

I know a female Georgie too. Don't know if her proper name is George, Georgia, Georgina or just Georgie.

Bloody awful.

Nothing wrong with Georgina, Georgette or Georgia. And I don't think anyone should be looking to Kerry Katona for naming inspiration.
