Middle name - Winifred or Wilfreda/Elfreda

Just trying to bounce this around a bit... DD3 will be named Elizabeth. We want to use family names (2) as middle names. The other middle name will be Rose.
So:
Elizabeth Winifred Rose
Elizabeth Wilfreda Rose

or possibly although a bit of a looser family name (based on Wilfred)

Elizabeth Elfreda Rose.

Any thoughts?

I prefer Elizabeth Winifred Rose

Elfyn · 05/03/2018 11:56

I like Wilfreda! I’ve never heard it before but it sounds really pretty with the other names and is the closest to Wilfred.

windchimesabotage · 05/03/2018 11:57

Winifred is an amazing name love it!! And Elizabeth Winifred Rose sounds very timelessly classic

DreamingOfAHotBeach · 05/03/2018 11:57

My favourite is Elizabeth Winifred Rose.

I don't like Elfreda and I Wilfreda doesn't sound like a name, I read it as Willy-fredaGrin (sorry)

DreamingOfAHotBeach · 05/03/2018 11:58

Don't know where the extra I came from

BootsAndCatsAndBootsAndCats · 05/03/2018 12:01

What about Frieda?

climbingtrees · 05/03/2018 12:21

Elizabeth Wini Rose
Elizabeth Freda Rose

soulnotasoldier · 05/03/2018 12:33

Winifred was my mother's middle name. Even though she was born in the 1920's, she hated it. Always. Never in fashion.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/03/2018 12:37

I'm trying to say Elizabeth Winifred in my head and I'm getting all muddled.
I'm saying Elinabeth Wilifred
Elizabeth Elfreda Rose is beautiful

Lavenderdays · 05/03/2018 13:58

Elizabeth Elfreda was my first thought...a bit of a tenuous connection though x

Elizabeth Winifred Rose

Elizabeth Winifred Rose is lovely. Freddie for short!

BaronessBomburst · 05/03/2018 17:20

Although I prefer the actual names Winifreda and Elfreda, I actually think that Elizabeth Winifred Rose flows better. I'd go with that.

viques · 05/03/2018 17:27

you could spell it Winefride, who was Welsh and a bit like Bernadette ie she is connected to a healing spring. It is the oldest place of pilgrimage in the UK.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/03/2018 17:54

Elizabeth Elfreda Rose (Elfie).

lecossaise · 06/03/2018 01:11

I would just go for Elizabeth Wilfred Rose! The other two names are super feminine so there certainly wouldn't be any confusion and I think it would be a sweet story to explain who she's named after.

Lavenderdays · 06/03/2018 08:25

Hi Lecossaise...do you mean Wilfreda Rose?...I couldn't bring myself to use Wilfred Rose!

lecossaise · 06/03/2018 12:36

Nope, I meant Wilfred. I think it's cool! I know a family with two daughters who both have their dad's first name as their middle name - think that's a tradition from somewhere in South Asia.

DramaAlpaca · 06/03/2018 17:47

Elizabeth Elfrida Rose (Elfrida spelled that way) would be my choice.

I don't have anything positive to say about either Winifred or Wilfreda, and I don't like the Elfreda spelling, but Elfrida is pretty.

Lavenderdays · 06/03/2018 20:02

Thanks Drama. Yes, I like Elfrida spelt that way but unfortunately, it wouldn't be representative of Wilfred at all if I spelt it that way.
