My dh and i cant agree on a name for our dd at all and we're both quite stubborn, so we thought we'd get some outside opinions.
Here's the names we've both came up with (middle name will be Anne);

Aimee
Avery
Eden
Elodie
Emmie (but not short for Emily/Emma etc)
Harper
Millie
Ryleigh
Tilly (but not short for Matilda)

Let us know your favourite or even top 3.
Thanks! Smile

Harper is my favourite. Love that name.

Thanks for all the replies, some very interesting results, had no idea Elodie would've been a clear front runner!

Elodie is the only one I quite like. Tilly/Millie/Emmie would be OK if they were short for something, but not as names in themselves. Harper, Ryleigh and Avery sound like surnames. I'd assume Avery was a boy's name, after the character in Charlotte's Web. Aimee is only OK spelled as Amy in the UK, otherwise it looks silly. Eden is OK if you want something more unusual - I don't dislike it.

cici54 · 05/03/2018 19:35

Avery
Elodie
Emmie

Strawberry2017 · 05/03/2018 19:40

Avery- my husband wouldn't go for it but I have Aubrey Grace instead. X

halfwitpicker · 05/03/2018 19:40

Avery.

Glumglowworm · 05/03/2018 19:47

Elodie

OakIsBetterTho · 05/03/2018 19:51

Elodie is absolutely lovely! Tilly is nice but only as a nn for Natalie imo.
The rest... my opinion ranges from 'oh no' to 'oh nooooooo'

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/03/2018 19:56

Emmie Anne is cute.

UserSnoozer · 05/03/2018 20:00

Harper gets my vote. I like how "Harper Anne" sounds

Time40 · 05/03/2018 20:01

Tilly.

Elodie is nice, but the poor girl would spend her whole life having to repeat it to people, and they would still get it wrong (I have an unusual name, and believe me, they are nothing but trouble).

MollyHuaCha · 05/03/2018 20:08
  1. Aimee
  2. Elodie
Redpramlady · 05/03/2018 20:26

Bubblesoup · 06/03/2018 05:20

Aimee, Elodie, Millie 😊

Stubbytung · 06/03/2018 05:35

Don't think she'll thank you for any of them. ARE you from Essex?

deptfordgirl · 06/03/2018 06:35

I love Elodie and Aimiee ( but prefer Amy)

BelindasRedPlasticHandcuffs · 06/03/2018 07:12

Elodie
Eden
Avery

Periclymenum · 06/03/2018 07:12

I actually like the French spelling of Aimee; Elodie is lovely too and I don't think that unusual that she'd have to explain it. Not keen on shortened names not short for anything and Avery and Harper are very American - quite like the sound of Avery though.

Minus4 · 06/03/2018 07:17

I only like Elodie too.

TatianaLarina · 06/03/2018 08:52

The French Aimée is pronounced differently - Ay may.

Aimee with no acute accent implies Ay me.

sunsetandcocktails · 06/03/2018 09:28

This is going against the grain but I'm not a fan of Elodie. It reminds me of the word 'Melody' and is a bit of a mouthful.
I like Emmie, but only as as nn for Emily of something similar
Avery brings to minds birds in cages...

WhereIsBlueRabbit · 06/03/2018 09:49

Elodie is also my favourite, followed by Eden, though I think that goes less well with Anne.

Emmie is nice but I'd probably only use it as a nickname and give a longer name (maybe Emmeline).

stellarfox · 06/03/2018 10:01

Eden is my favourite followed by Elodie. Emmie, Millie and Tilly are all sweet but I would only use them as nicknames for Emmeline, Matilda etc. Also quite like the Aimee spelling.

Hersetta427 · 06/03/2018 12:18

Sorry they are too common (as in overused) or just common. Only one which I think is ok is Elodie.
