Nina.
I have an Ellen.

n0ne · 09/02/2018 12:34

Love Etta, not keen in Effie, too nicknamey

windchimesabotage · 09/02/2018 12:35

Etta and Effie are my faves.

Im not too keen on Nina.

SoFancy · 09/02/2018 12:37

I LOVE Etta and Nina - Etta James and Nina Simone spring to mind. Cool, classy, suit any age.

Anya is a very nice, dignified sort of name, too.

Not so keen on the others. Eva and Ella are nice, but there are loads around. Effie is a bit twee and cutesy as a standalone name.

Songofthesouth · 09/02/2018 12:42

Effie is my daughters name-it’s a nickname/diminutive for a longer name though.

I also love Etta and Annie nn Annie :)

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 09/02/2018 12:46

My favourites are Anya, Iona & Nina

Too many Ellas & Evas already in the UK under 20 population IMO (along with Ellie, Evie, Ava & Eve)

I'm less keen on Etta & Effie

Anniexoxo · 09/02/2018 12:49

My name Is Annie Effie so I'm bias and like both Grin

Songofthesouth · 09/02/2018 15:28

Anniexo your name is😍

NoSquirrels · 09/02/2018 15:31

Etta
Nina
Iona
Anya

in that order. I love your list, in fact.

BakedBeeeen · 09/02/2018 15:33

I love Nina and also really like Iona. However, you can't use Iona if your surname is a noun. E.g. Iona Ball, Iona Castle. (Say it out loud and you'll see what I mean!)

Elfyn · 09/02/2018 15:36

Iona! I think it’s gorgeous.

Least favourite Ella. Fine but ubiquitous.

Sleephead1 · 09/02/2018 15:40

love Etta and Effie least favourite would be Ella not because I don't like it just think it used loads.

jaimelannistersgoldenhand · 09/02/2018 15:44

Etta, Effie - lovely

Anya, - ok

Nina, Iona, - not keen but not bad names

Eva, Ella- super popular so avoid if you don't like popular names

BreakHerOffAKitKat · 09/02/2018 15:46

Etta - but I'm biased as it's my DD's name and I love it

MikeUniformMike · 09/02/2018 15:50

Etta - you'll need the right surname or middle name e.g. Etta Hole Lamb
Effie - effin awful
Anya - ok
Nina - ok
Iona - you own a what
Eva - oh god another one
Ella - nice but popular

SummerRoberts · 09/02/2018 15:50

Anya is my favourite from your list, closely followed by Nina.

Effie always sounds to me like someone is about to swear.

There are loads of Eva's and Ella's around where I live.

LastOneDancing · 09/02/2018 15:51

Etta - favourite.
Iona, Ella - also lovely

Nina, Eva - fine.

Effie - really not keen. Super-twee.

floriad · 09/02/2018 15:53

Nina and Etta are lovely.
Iona, Ella and Anya are nice.

Eva is too popular and imo somewhat boring.
Effie is fluffy and doesn't feel complete.

You might also like Ada, Cara, Calla and Flora.

Jammycustard · 09/02/2018 15:54

I have a DD with the pet name Effie, short for a longer name.

I do like Etta.

Anniexoxo · 09/02/2018 15:56

Songofthesouth · 09/02/2018 16:21

Jammycustard · 09/02/2018 17:09

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 09/02/2018 17:24

Anya, Etta or Ella.

Lennythelion14 · 09/02/2018 17:27

Anya and Etta are lovely. Different. Effie always reminds me of someone swearing.

TryAgainAndAgain · 09/02/2018 17:29

All so lovely but so very, very popular.

Etta is my favourite and Nina my least favourite.
