Really struggling to name baby no3

Please help me name baby number 3. Big brother is Ezra Fox and big sister is Wren Margot. We've accidentally given both animal names so now I feel we need to give the next a nature name but hopefully something subtle.

Some lovely Welsh names would go well
Bryn - think it means hill...?
Serenni Welsh for twinkle
Osian - Welsh for ocean

HeyitsBB

"Big brother is Ezra Fox and big sister is Wren Margot."

I can see why you want other people to name the third child after what you saddled your other poor children with. Confused

MikeUniformMike · 09/02/2018 18:17

Serenni is not welsh for twinkling and it is not a name.
Osian isn't Welsh for Ocean - it is from the Irish Oisin meaning little deer.
Bryn is Welsh and it means hill.

NotAnotherEmma wow.Bitchy.

Some lovely suggestions given by PP that would go with your DC names really well. Some people just can’t help but be totally rude.

Foxedme, I used Google translate to look up the Welsh for 'twinkling' and it came up with 'Gwenwyn'. Grin

This is why taking translations of words as names is not a good idea.
If you think Gwenwyn would make a pretty name for DD, translate the word into English first.

Flomper · 10/02/2018 13:53

I thibk Ezra and Wren are great names! much better than all the Harry and Izzy's out there.

Foxedme · 11/02/2018 21:41

Oops, the little girl I know whose mum called her Serenni needs to check on google translate then... although she is a Welsh speaker so maybe there are some discrepancies on google...? Grin

Badgoushk · 11/02/2018 21:51

I would go for Lark as a MN for a girl.

I love the name Damson too, although I appreciate it's a bit random!

What about Rowan as a MN for a boy.

MikeUniformMike · 12/02/2018 12:40

Serenni isn't even a welsh word. Serennu might make sense but if it existed it would be a verb not an adjective. i.e. it would mean 'to put a star on'.
As a name, it's not too awful, but as a welsh name it is, to use an MN term, batshit.

Foxedme · 12/02/2018 20:09

Wow, this has really bothered you Mike!

LilaBlue · 12/02/2018 20:13

Primrose Delilah

Asa, Oakley or Ramona.

Oh, Foxed, I'm like that about Welsh names. I see them on here, often spelt wrongly or mispronounced, or said to mean things that they don't.
There are Welsh names that are popular with Welsh speakers and those that popular with people who don't speak Welsh. The ones that are popular with non-Welsh speakers are ones like Dylan, Carys, Bethan, Enfys, Anwen and Seren, and you wouldn't get a Welsh speaker naming their child them because the name would seem out of date or plain naff.

A lot of the welsh names are beautiful but pretty much unpronounceable if you don't speak fluent Welsh. (Lleucu anyone?)
The Serenni one got me because although it's quite pretty, it's not welsh, although Seren is Welsh for Star. I guess it's a bit like naming a child Stormi or something.
