A name for DS 2

Crazycatlady80 · 03/02/2018 09:57

A few months to go yet but we really can’t decide on a name for DS 2 and no name is jumping out this time around. DS 1 is Felix so something that would blend with that would be good good but not essential. Would love some suggestions. Due to surname would rather not have names that start or end with an N

So far We like
Leo
Joseph
Elliott
Alfie
Henry

But feel there is something else out there we are missing that would be the perfect name. Any ideas.

I like Leo and Joseph.
Or what about Rafferty, Oscar, Reuben or Cameron?

Elliot is my favourite

Ellis
Sylvester
Lucas

I like Leo and Henry

Crazycatlady80 · 03/02/2018 10:25

Thank you. I really love Reuben, but with the surname it’s just has too many N’s which is a shame. Joseph has been my favourite name since I was a teenager but not keen on it being shorted to Joe, so difficult to decide.

Oscar and Ellis had been suggested but DH not keen.

I really wouldn't go with Joseph if you don't like Joe. It may not happen but being the first syllable it's so easy to shorten.

Joel? Think that's less likely to get Joe.

NapQueen · 03/02/2018 10:35

Otis
Wilbur
Dexter
Rex

Of your list I love Elliot.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 03/02/2018 10:44

I love Joseph but didn't use it as we don't like Joe and I see that as inevitable.
Leo is lovely too.

Rory
Casper
Jared
Zachary
Marcus
Lucas
Oliver
Samuel

I have a friend with a Felix and an Elliott so they go together in my mind.

I would avoid Leo simply because they are two feline names.

Have you thought about the other names on your list.
Will you call him Alfred and shorten it to Alfie, there will be lots of children in his class with a name ending in ie as it's very popular right now. Think about when they are older and what form of the name they might need, it can also be shortened to Alf do you like that.
Will you shorten Henry to Harry
We have just had a second and these are some of the names we had on our list
Rowan
Idris
Gethin
Fionn
Malachi
Gabriel

Thank you for all the suggestions.

I did think with Leo it might be too catty, but didn’t really mind. Haven’t had too many cat references about Felix - to my face anyway.

Henry wouldn’t be shortened to harry, Felix was very nearly a harry but just felt it was too popular in the end, so thought Henry was a nice alternative this time round.

I must say Alfie is probably my least favourite, cute for a child but not sure about an adult.

Think Elliott is winning at the moment.
