I'd choose Rosa - just sounds a bit more like a name than a nickname IMO, and then you have the option of Rosie as a NN, whereas I don't think Rosie NN Rosa would really work

SleepymrsE · 02/02/2018 15:59

Just be warned, I have a Rosa (Rosalind) but lots still call her Rosie.

TheFallenMadonna · 02/02/2018 16:00

Rosa. I love It!

Wow1234 · 02/02/2018 16:01

Rosa. Beautiful.

RosieorRosa · 02/02/2018 16:04

Thanks all, I am cheating a bit but this is actually for me. My name is Rosie but as an almost 40 year old woman I feel I have outgrown my name... thinking of re-branding myself as Rosa. Would you do this if you were called Rosie?

I prefer Rosie

missjaysays · 02/02/2018 16:11

I wouldn't, I think Rosie is lovely. I don't think you can outgrow it, it's your name, people associate it with you!
I work with small children have heard some right daft names over the years. After the first 2 weeks you forget how awful or silly they are as you get to know the child and it just fits them.
In people's minds, the name Rosie will just 'fit' with you.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 02/02/2018 16:25

I like them both. Rosie is absolutely fine for an adult.

1haudyerwheesht · 02/02/2018 17:17

Rosa! I also love Rosaleen.

Annabelle4 · 02/02/2018 17:19

Rosa

kaytee87 · 02/02/2018 18:33

Rosa

You may struggle to rebrand though

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2018 18:59

The obvious 'grown up' option from Rosie would be Rose rather than Rosa. It might be easier to rebrand to that. Rosie's fine for an adult anyway.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 02/02/2018 19:02

Rosa

daisypond · 02/02/2018 20:28

I prefer Rosa to Rosie, but I'd go with Rose above Rosa.

HeadfirstForHalos · 02/02/2018 20:30

I love the name Rosie Smile

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 02/02/2018 20:37

I much prefer Rose.

Imstickingwiththisone · 02/02/2018 20:43

How would you even do this OP? Just turn around to people you've known all your life and announce you're now Rosa?

I've always thought this when people write about naming their DC so they have options when they're older. Just seems a bit up your own arse and I'd probably laugh.

Rosie is fine and people know you and love you as Rosie. People who don't soon will so it doesn't matter how you introduce yourself Smile

If you do it though I'd stick to Rose although Rosa is a very lovely name.

mrsBeverleyGoldberg · 02/02/2018 20:52

Rosa. I would choose that name for myself.

mrsBeverleyGoldberg · 02/02/2018 20:53

And I didn't read your update!

drumandthebass · 02/02/2018 22:25

Rosie

RosieorRosa · 03/02/2018 12:27

Thanks everyone, I should have mentioned Rose doesn't work with my surname. I might consider Rosa if I apply for a new job and be known as Rosa at work, Rosie to family and friends.

Dd is a Rosie, both she and I love her name and feel like it has grown up with her. She is 25 now, I hope when she is older she doesn't think it's twee though. FWIW the other Rosie's I know are 50 and 75 and their name still seems to fit them.
