My French exchange person was called Tanika. She was very lovely. Her friends called her Nika which to the ears of a girl from a Welsh village in 1987 seemed incredibly cool

Not crazy about it. If someone told me it was their name I'd think it was pretty, but there are much prettier names that are similar...
