Audrie for a little girl? Is this too old fashioned?

Well yes it is old fashioned. However, that's
In no way a negative thing. All the old names are in style now.
Also there are some names which don't do unique spellings this is one of them. I'd stick with Audrey

PaperdollCartoon · 01/02/2018 23:44

Audrey is lovely, old fashioned but popular in Australia and the USA and gaining here. But please spell it properly so the poor child doesn’t have to correct people her entire life.

BakedBeans47 · 01/02/2018 23:45

Nice name but not with a made up spelling. Spell it Audrey.

Hmm. I'm not normally keen on alternative spellings, but I have to admit I think Audrie is actually quite pretty. I might even prefer it to Audrey.

Battleax · 01/02/2018 23:49

Audrey is too elegant for yooneek reinterpretation.

HeddaGarbled · 01/02/2018 23:49

It's very contemporary to invent a new spelling for an old name.

TheDowagerCuntess · 01/02/2018 23:50

I'm giving the OP the benefit of the doubt, and assuming there's a good reason for the 'ie' spelling...........?

Panting · 01/02/2018 23:54

Pretty name if spelt correctly: Audrey. Otherwise silly.

Emelene · 01/02/2018 23:56

I really like Audrey, I think it's very elegant. Audrie would confuse me if I read it as I think it could be pronounced Or-dry rather than Or-dree which sounds odd!

Farmerswife36 · 01/02/2018 23:57

It's lovely . Please don't spell it that way though

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/02/2018 00:38

Why would you misspell it as Audrie?

SuperBeagle · 02/02/2018 00:48

It's nice, but spelt Audrey.

Quite popular here in Australia. I know a couple under the age of 5.

Joeybee · 02/02/2018 02:35

It is old fashioned, but all those old fashioned names are gaining popularity again now. I think it is a pretty name. I do however prefer the proper spelling of 'Audrey', as everyone would presume it's spelt that way anyhow. If you spell it the other way then you'd forever be having to correct people and spell it out.

AuntieStella · 02/02/2018 06:15

It's old fashioned, but not really returning to use in Britain because of the soap character (in Corrie since the late 1979s and still going strong)

As Corrie is the most watched soap by quite some distance, there will be lots of people who think 'Roberts'

ChocolateCrunch · 02/02/2018 06:20

I really like it, but spelt Audrey

Dizzywizz · 02/02/2018 06:25

I like it with the ‘ie’ spelling, i think it looks prettier

PeasAndHarmony · 02/02/2018 06:33

Audrey is a beautiful name.

Audrie looks like you're spelled Audrey wrong.

Veterinari · 02/02/2018 06:37

Audrie would be pronounced differently to Audrey
Audrey is nice

Mrsknackered · 02/02/2018 09:58

I love Audrey. I think spelling it with an 'ie' just means it's gonna get spelled wrong constantly

TurquoiseDress · 02/02/2018 12:07

Old lady names seem to be having a comeback!

I like the name but it's spelled Audrey, otherwise she will be correcting people the rest of her life Shock

AdalindSchade · 02/02/2018 13:08

Audrey is nice

MikeUniformMike · 02/02/2018 13:19

Audrey Roberts. I don't think it's a pretty name but it's association with Audrey Hepburn might make it seem nicer than it is.
Stick to the standard spelling.
