Having a hard time choosing a name!
Sure name begins with H and is one syllable.

Matilda Anne
Harriet Rose
Florence Eloise
Beatrice Ivy
Delilah Rose

Or any other suggestions?! Flowers

Delilah Rose.

Screw those who say the name has unfortunate connotations. The biblical Delilah took no prisoners.

However if I were you I’d forgo the Rose.

Delilah Elisabeth is nice.

BertrandRussell · 30/01/2018 01:14

It’s not the Biblical Delilah that’s the problem. It’s the well known song of the same name.

BaffledMummy · 30/01/2018 09:22

Beatrice Ivy by a whisker over Harriet Rose. Florence is lovely too but not sure about Eloise as the middle. Eloise on its own is a lovely name but doesn’t sound quite right to my ear as a middle to Florence.

JacintaJones · 31/01/2018 00:22

Bertrand what's wrong with 'Hey there Delilah?' Its a lovely song imo.
Why would it put you off the name?!? 🤔

happychange · 31/01/2018 00:30

Florence Eloise ! Love that name

WhineandDine1 · 31/01/2018 01:18

all lovely! Beatrice Ivy is my favourite though as I also love Bea as a nn.

Cavender · 31/01/2018 01:44

Assuming your surname is something like Hay, I’m not sure that Hatty Hay works very well.

Beatrice or Matilda are both lovely though.

Isn't it about a man who murders his girlfriend in a fit of jealousy because he thinks she's cheated on him?

People don't listen to the lyrics...the tune is so upbeat and catchy they don't realise the ending. I could be wrong, I don't know all the lyrics, but I think that's the gyst of it. Sad

FintyTin · 31/01/2018 10:19

Beatrice, Harriet and Eloise are gorgeous names!
I would go for Beatrice Ivy or Harriet Eloise.
Harriet Rose is a bit growly (too many Rs).

FfionFlorist · 31/01/2018 10:24

Harriet Rose

soupforbrains · 31/01/2018 10:26

I like Beatrice Ivy the best,

but I also like that Harriet Rose would have the initials HRH which is cute/amusing.

babyboots · 31/01/2018 10:33

Love alliterated names- would definitely go for Harriet H....

We have an H surname and want a Hugh or Harriet...

Unihorn · 31/01/2018 10:36

I think the well known song people associate the name with is Tom Jones, not Hey There Delilah! Grin

Harriet Rose is nice but the alliteration may not be great. I like Beatrice.

kaytee87 · 31/01/2018 20:14

Harriet Rose

BrutusMcDogface · 31/01/2018 20:34

Hey there Delilah is a lovely song! Though I'm off to google the lyrics to tom Jones's Delilah song..... there is a little Delilah at my children's school; can be shortened to Lila.

I still love Harriet rose though!

BrutusMcDogface · 31/01/2018 20:35

Bloody hell!! Calm down, Tom.....ShockSad

NutCase82 · 31/01/2018 20:40

I have a Harriet but most of those names were in the running... you have good taste!!

PurpleTraitor · 31/01/2018 20:41

Harriet Rose and your can call her your highness (HRH)!!!

BlackberryandNettle · 01/02/2018 19:18

Beatrice, Matilda and Florence are my favorites from your list in that order. Not keen on ivy out of your middle names, I always think it's not that nice a plant really, Rose is beautiful.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 02/02/2018 20:41

Harriet Mary

windchimesabotage · 02/02/2018 20:42

Beatrice Ivy is gorgeous!!

redastherose · 02/02/2018 23:02

My nana was an Ivy, she hated it with a passion and used her middle name. She always said ivy was clinging and an unpleasant weed!

thiskittenbarks · 03/02/2018 08:36

Harriet is my fave of those but they are all lovely.
I don't really like ivy but I do like Beatrice!
I have a friend called Florence and it always gets shortened to Flo which she hated for years but now she's just accepted it... Bea for Beatrice is lovely!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 03/02/2018 09:26

Agree with your Grandma Red. I will never understand why it's so popular. Ivy Tildsley ruined it for me. Evil MIL Grin

ArsenalsPlayingAtHome · 04/02/2018 10:32

Florence

One Florence I know never has her name shortened!

Another I know - occasionally it's shortened to Floss or Flossie, but never Flo, which I agree, IS horrible!
