So we've a little while to go but would like to try to maybe expand on the list, but it seems we have very different tastes. Our surname is very long so we're going towards shorter names, so far we have....

  • Cian
  • Noah
  • Rafe
  • Finn
  • Reuben

Any ones you can think to add on?

I love a lot of your list, thank you, Caleb, joshua and Rory have unfortunately already had a no but I am going to try him with Niall

Theo
Otto
Oscar
Ozzie

I have a Theo and a Reuben, and a Charlie but the name Charlie tends to encourage naughty youngsters (I'm joking, pitchforks away!)

stellarfox · 25/01/2018 15:59

Gabriel nn Gabe?

Northernbeachbum · 25/01/2018 16:05

@3blues your boys all have awesome names!!!

Not sure about Gabe, doesn't seem to sound right with the surname

What are people's thoughts on Avery

OP posts:
3Blues · 25/01/2018 16:35

Thank you!

Avery is a lovely name...very American!

Ciin · 25/01/2018 16:42

I have a Dominic and an Ezrah. Other names we had on our very short list with baby #2 was Arlo and Finley. I also like Watson, Riley, Ollie/Oliver.

ChocolateCrunch · 25/01/2018 17:21

Luke
Ethan
Alfie
Milo
Saul
Evan
Felix
Tate

I like Finn from your list

Elfyn · 25/01/2018 18:30

Rafe is lovely.

Keir or Kerr?

Northernbeachbum · 26/01/2018 08:20

I can't work out if Avery is a bit too, not sure how to explain it, fluffy?! I like real names but not so common. Girls names were so much easier Blush

Finn would be short for Finley so glad that's getting positive comments

Riley I can't decide how I feel about

Thank you for all the ideas so far, a few to put forward Smile

Carl

daisypond · 26/01/2018 14:24

I don't think Avery fits with your other name suggestions. It's a different type of name - quite American/surnamey/unisex. I really like both Cian and Rafe. I'm not so keen on Finn - mainly because there are a few of them around these days.

Northernbeachbum · 30/01/2018 17:07

Thats what I thought too @daisypond

Unfortunately Carl is a close friend @Bluechampagne

Niall, Caleb and Miles have all been added to the list of potentials, so thank you all so far

RavenWings · 30/01/2018 19:12

Joel
Ezra
David
Peter
Craig (though personally I find it hard to picture on a baby!)
Eoghan/Eoin/Owen
Blake
Eric
Mark
Ben
Kai
Leon
Luca
Oren
Aaron
Zac
Liam
Adam
Osian
Rhys

As you like Cian I'd suggest Ciar, Ciaran and Cillian. I'm not sure if you want opinions on the current list you have but Niall and Cian are the best by a mile.

mondler · 30/01/2018 20:29

I like Finn, Reuben and Raff from your list. How about:

Seth
Jonah
Owen
Rowan

Northernbeachbum · 31/01/2018 14:18

Rowan I love and DP has said it can go on the list, thanks Mondler (also love the name!)

I love
Luca
Seth
Kai

but they've all been veto'd

Do you think we can have a Niall/Cian/Oren when the irish heritage is about 4 generations back?

OP posts:
MammieBear · 31/01/2018 14:24

Cian - better spelling than Kian

  • Noah - popular old testament biblical name, quite quirky in its on way.
  • Rafe - probably my favourite on your list, and it has proven to be a popular choice recently.
  • Finn - OK but nothing to get too excited about, have you thought of Flynn just to be a bit different?
  • Reuben - nice name, good meaning
greenlizard · 31/01/2018 15:35

I love Rafe (was in our list) also love Red (short for Redmund)

RavenWings · 31/01/2018 16:17

I honestly don't think the heritage matters using Niall/Cian/Oren. As long as you pronounce them correctly and don't butcher the spelling it's fine.

Northernbeachbum · 31/01/2018 16:40

Thanks @RavenWings thats what I hoped, I think Oren might be a bit too much maybe but the others are well known enough for everyone to be able to read and say, especially any rugby fans will know Cian Healy so will know how to say it from that Grin
