Rio as a girls name?

I love the name Rio but i’m wondering if people view it as a boys name only. I also like the name Ria, but my other daughter is called Lila and I would prefer if their names didn’t share the same ending. Thoughts?

I have a girl Rio in my class. I've grown to like the name as she is so lovely!

Never personally known a male Rio, there were a few female Rios at my school though. I actually kinda like it.

None of whom went on to be strippers or sail on a yacht Duran Duran-style btw

Ria is a pretty name. It’s also short for the Welsh names Rhianne and Rhiannon.

Rio is good name for a girl. My name is rio im a girl. People say i got a nice name and they associate it with duran duran or people ask if im from brazil. But there are times i get mistaken as a boy because of my name. ;)

Sorry, Rio Ferdinand also springs to mind for me.

I know a lovely boy called Rio (11 yo) who is soo funny and likeable. It has made me strongly associate the name with a boy x

Rio can be used both as a girl’s name and a boy’s name so either one will work
