Do you know any?
2 people I know have called their DDs Aida in the past couple of months. There's also one in DD's new nursery class.
I've heard of old ladies called Ada and do quite like an old lady name but Aida is new on me.
Is it going to be the new Olivia?

Like the opera? Or just like Ada?
I know a little Ada, it’s cute - it suits her.

A step away from Asda!!.
Did anyone click that Dev in Corrie has twins a step away from Asda and Aldi?

I like Aida, not really a fan of Ada though.

Cross stitching fabric is my first thought.

Ritualunion · 04/01/2018 16:37

Reading it I’d think it would be pronounced Eye-ee-da. Wouldn’t have thought it was like an Ada.

Gingernaut · 04/01/2018 16:38

Ay-ee-da or A-da?

The first puts me in.mind of an opera, the second, Les Dawson.

Aida reminds me of the opera too and she has such a tragic ending.

LouseHouse · 04/01/2018 17:52

When I first saw it written I assumed Ay-ee-da but all 3 are pronounced A-da.

I know one, pronounced the same as Ada. She's absolutely adorable so it has really positive connotations for me.

Huh. Interesting. I wonder why they didn't call their children Ada, tbh.

It's nice... But I would have assumed a ee da, tbh.

peppapigwouldmakelovelyrashers · 04/01/2018 19:31

I would assume it was Ay-ee-da like the opera. Which would turn me right off as she will be forever having to tell people how to say it.

If you want it said Ada, why not just call her Ada?
