Can’t seem to be making up our mind
Which one do you like more and why?
Arabella or Cecilia?

Absolutely love that suggestion DailyMail!

Shmithecat · 02/01/2018 18:44

LOVE Cecilia 😍😍😍

Mum8 · 02/01/2018 20:21

Dailymail I love it but it is also like arouraios if not more which means rat for the Greek side of the family
If I were to choose between Carina or Cecily/Cecilia, which do you like more? Maybe DH friends will move 😬

Hi Mum8, As with my thread about names...the opinion is divided; I think in the end we will just have to go with what we like...it is all subjective. I don't think I have moved any further forward with my ideal name but it has been a useful sounding board and certainly given me food for thought...I think I'm coming around to the name I first thought of originally! x

HelenaJustina · 02/01/2018 20:34

Haven’t read full thread but I have a Cecilia, so am biased. I love it!

Classically it is spelt with two ‘i’s though the author spells it with two ‘e’s. I prefer the traditional spelling

Ginnotginger · 02/01/2018 21:00

Not very keen on Arabella, I prefer Cecelia but agree that it is a little to similar to DD1 name. I was going to suggest Aurora but saw you rat comments Smile

Perhaps Aurelia/Aurellia, Auriella, Amira, Ophelia or Isadora/Isidora

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 02/01/2018 21:09

Oh that’s unfortunate re the rat connection...

Cecily would be my choice. It’s lovely.

Cecilia and cecily are both gorgeous names. You can't go wrong with either IMO!

Mum8 · 03/01/2018 08:41

Thank you everyone!! Opinions much appreciated
After a lot of thinking we decided to make a list and decide when baby arrives or see which one grows on us the most.

  • Cecily/Cecilia
  • Flavia (nickname Flavie in FR which I love).
  • Aurelia - added back as I love it and think the arouraios (Greek rat meaning) may be a bit of stretch, that is more linked to Aurora...
  • Isabella- DD’s favourite but may remove it due to commonality

I love Cecilia, I know a few and they're lovely. I also like Aurelia. Other suggestions of similar names are Mariana, Fabiana, Giovana....

LinoleumBlownapart · 03/01/2018 10:30

Or Celina

User45632874 · 03/01/2018 12:06

Yes I like Mariana too but Mum8, all lovely names; dd is going to end up with a lovely name whichever one you choose x Still working on my shortlist...Georgiana is still my favourite on my shortlist at the moment though.

Firenight · 03/01/2018 12:07

I love both. Would have used Cecilia for my daughter if it wasn’t for surname alliteration.

HelenaJustina · 03/01/2018 13:58

Oh I love Flavia, DH would never have gone for it though!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 03/01/2018 16:49

Flavia reminds me of a cross between labia and vulva! Shock
