Thoughts on this as a first name?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PurpleDaisies · 27/12/2017 22:10

I don’t like it at all.

helpmum2003 · 27/12/2017 22:20

Sorry I don't like it! But I don't like forenames that sound like surnames....

Are you thinking boy or girl?

NoNoCharlieRascal · 27/12/2017 22:22

I know a girl called Blythe. It really suits her.

clutteringfunt · 27/12/2017 22:33

Have you ever been to Blyth in Northumberland ?
I prefer the spelling Blythe.

NomNomNominativeDeterminism · 27/12/2017 22:34

Blythe would be better than Blyth - unless there are siblings called Bamburgh, Cullercoats and Gateshead?

IJoinedJustToPostThis · 27/12/2017 22:36

Blyth in Northumberland is most famous for having a severe drug problem.

spankhurst · 27/12/2017 22:37

I know a Blythe. It makes me think of Blithe Spirit.

WeeM · 27/12/2017 22:39

I met Blythe Duff from Taggart once and she was so lovely...so for that reason I really like it!

No. I think it makes a lovely middle name though.

TheScottishPlay · 28/12/2017 00:39

If DS had been a girl he would have been Blythe.

tethersend · 28/12/2017 00:40

This without an e is my surname.

I have spent 40 years spelling it out to people and then saying 'no e'. Three or four times. They still spell it with an e Grin

Use the spelling with an e is my advice.

Regularsizedrudy · 28/12/2017 00:47

I love Blythe!

NameChanger22 · 28/12/2017 00:50

I love it. It has to be Blythe with an e.

Joeybee · 28/12/2017 01:30

Lovely name, but with the E.

ChocolateCrunch · 28/12/2017 02:02

Definitely with the e at the end. I quite like it.

MikeUniformMike · 28/12/2017 02:23

Blyth. It's a surname.
I'd think it was a boy's name were it not for Gwyneth Paltrow's mother. I think she's Blythe.

Blythe if it's a girl. Don't use for a girl in Wales unless it's a puppy you are naming.

17caterpillars1mouse · 28/12/2017 08:13

I really like it for a girl spelt Blythe. I also really like Briar which I view as a similar style name

Zioanna · 28/12/2017 08:15

Have you ever been to Blyth in Northumberland? It’s pretty grim.

TatianaLarina · 28/12/2017 08:26

I really like it. It’s unusual. Def with the e.

HRTpatch · 28/12/2017 08:27

I knew a boy called Blyth in the 60s. I didnt like the name.

NancyJoan · 28/12/2017 08:29

I have a Blythe. She is delicious, though she does get fed up of having to tell people how to pronounce it constantly.

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 28/12/2017 09:59

I love Blythe!

I’ve never seen Blyth before and might have thought it was pronounced blith.

Harebellmeadow · 28/12/2017 18:04

Blythe is beautiful. Really pretty as a name. pushes away thoughts of odd goth doll

FoggieFishieCarpeDiem · 28/12/2017 19:09
