When I was at school, in year 2, I adopted twin 'babies' from reception. They were my little munchkins, and every day when their class was released into the playground they would race to me and I would catch them in my arms and swing them round and invariably drop them and have to take them to the school nurse to have their wounds patched. I absolutely adored them. Anyway, While one twin had the popular name 'Isobel' her sister's name I've never heard since. I don't know how it was spelled but it was pronounced 'Uh-rik-a'. Has anyone ever come across this name before? It was in the 90's so before made up names became common.

Ulrika?

LizzieSiddal · 19/12/2017 23:42

Yes I've heard if it. Ulrika, I think it's Swedish.

Erika in a Bolton accent?

littlemisscomper · 19/12/2017 23:50

No, it's not Ulrika with an L. It was pronounced differently to Ulrika Jonsson. You say that like 'Ul-REEKa right? My baby's name was 'UH-rika'

And not accent related I don't think. We were in Hertfordshire. They were white British.

Eureka!

littlemisscomper · 20/12/2017 01:35

That's pronounced 'You-reeka' isn't it?
