‘Proper’ or traditional boys names that aren’t too popular

I like names like Alexander, Harry, Henry, Edward, Thomas but they are all so popular.
Can anyone suggest any fairly traditional boys names that aren’t too popular?

I really dislike surnames names, anything made up sounding or anything American sounding.

Yes I know I’m picky & judgy Grin

I’ve got a John, 35 now and probably only met about 5 with same name. Never gets shortened.

Alexander, Harry, Henry, Edward, Thomas

Without being too outing I have one of these, the year he was born and the preceding 2 years it was the no1 boys name in the UK, and I think the year after was no2.

He's in a school of 200+ kids roughly 50:50 split boys:girls.

There isn't one single other kid with the same name Hmm

Rory. So lovely and very underused! If we have a boy (finding out tomorrow all going well) he will be named Ruaridh which is the Scottish version.

I've got a Ross - he was the only one at primary school and is the only one at secondary school too.

OP asks for traditional names that aren't too popular..mumsnet users provide John or David every other post...

BertrandRussell · 14/12/2017 01:01

Only 500 Johns last year. And only 1500 Davids. So not popular at all.
